I think it's correlated to the expectation. People take the piss that we had a balon d'or clause in there, but that was the level of hype he rightfully had. Injuries seem to have really hampered his explosiveness and momentum.
Obviously the club had high hopes for him agreeing to a clause like that. Injuries have ruined him. I don’t think it warrants the amount of dogs abuse he gets from fans. Was the same with jones.
Oh yeah, it certainly never warrants it, was just trying to explain the root cause a bit.

A bit controversial view but I believe martials ceiling is higher than Rashfords.

Should do everything possible to ship him out in Jan. I'd rather we played with 10 men than have that waste of space on the pitch. Wouldn't expect us to bring in a replacement, and TBH I don't care - I'd be happy using what we have or promoting from within. Martial is just another of those that needs to be culled. End of.
I don’t think that’s controversial at all, I think as young fit martial had more in his locker, he could go past players with ease
Talent wise yes, desire wise absolutely not.
He doesn't have an elite mentality. Maybe it was too much pressure at a young age, maybe he was frustrated by injuries, maybe he had the wrong coaching, but watching him on loan in Spain told me everything I needed to know about him. He was a disaster.

He's the type of player I really can't stand. Bags of natural talent but minimal determination to see it materialise.

Like De Gea and Lingard he will struggle to find a club.
If he goes anywhere in January it would be on the basis of us paying part of his salary, but saving the rest. Whether that would be worth it to us, or the club taking him on, is debatable, but either way Martial would still get his paycheck. To which he is entitled of course, a contract is a contract.
At least we probably won’t have to pay that extra ballon dor clause now
We're bereft of strikers so I don't see us letting him go unless there's a good offer.

I think we would only let Martial go in January if we were bringing someone else in, buy or loan, and no one would take him unless they were more bereft than us. So it's unlikely, but we might have plans, and someone else might have an injury crisis, so it can't be completely ruled out.

Don't think injuries are the reason for the abuse, it is his lack of effort and application during games rather. Sulking attitude.
Especially, given the amount of wages he got used to. Reality is about to hit hard.

DDG had offers from Saudi but decided not to take them. I wouldn’t be surprised if Newcastle move for him as Pope is injured.
Clearly not a fraud. Wasted potential yes but he clearly was a obviously a supremely talented player. Golden boy, two good seasons at a young age for Manchester United and some very promising seasons for LVG and even Mourinho.
What is that with calling players or managers a fraud anyway? Has that become the most ''hype'' thing to say these days? I cant remember reading it that often years ago and now everyone and their mom is labeled a fraud immediately?

Great news, hopefully someone makes an offer for him in January and the club can get make a few quid off him.
There is no way anyone is making an offer for him. If any club even wanted him, they would wait until the end of the season. I can see him going back to France or maybe the Turkish league.
He'll end up in Galatasaray and score against us in two years.
