We might want him at the LA Galaxy but he'll need to start on the bench.
I think £15m loan with obligation to buy is the best shot we have when you consider his wages
As long as it's not a player of the year or top goal scorer clause because we'll never see that money21/22/23 with add ons i feel.
For mid table club like Everton and Arsenal, they need fighters to fight and chase for every ball. France with all the talents can carry Martial, but not Everton, Arsenal or Aston Villa. Arsenal couldn't carry Ozil and Everton couldn't with James. No one bar PSG, Chelsea, Man City can afford his salary either. Inter's chinese owner is close to bankruptcy now and won't pump money to the club anymore. Martial doesn't have the work rate and fight in him to play for mid table club in EPL i am afraid.
Edit
I would take Daniel James instead of Martial, just like what Leeds united did. For the money 50m quoted for Martial and his wages, I would go for Adama Traore instead.
we finished 8th for the past 2 season and it is a fact. At this moment Arsenal is a mid table club. We need players to fight for every ball.Ouch And from an Arsenal fan nonetheless
But what you said is true. Midtable clubs need players who run their heart out since they cant compete with the talent of the bigger clubs, cant have lazy sods like Martial stroll around up top.
Even then, Everton, Villa, Arsenal and pretty much everyone in the PL have better players than the current version of Martial. Ask a Leeds fan if they would swap Martial for Bamford or ask a Newcastle fan if they would swap Saint Maximin for Martial and im pretty sure they would laugh in your face
I think the ideal position for him would be to take the wage cut and try get to a side that play some good football but are lower down in terms of both status and expectation. An Atalanta, Lyon type of vibe. Spend the next 18-24 months raising his CV back up and he's 27 with the stats that are far more appealing to another bigger side.
How realistic that is... Probably not very. We gave him the mental wages, he's entitled to sit on his arse on it. How interested those types of club would be too, eh...
I do wonder why players don't take a wage cut and play instead of sitting on the bench? Surely they should have some pride in themselves. It's not that getting 50k a week is not going to make them starve?
Fickle? He has been a much discussed subject for yearsWow, how fickle fans are eh.
It is a job at the end of the day with a very short shelf life. £50k fewer might not make him starve, but it’s a lot of fecking money.I do wonder why players don't take a wage cut and play instead of sitting on the bench? Barcelona could do with a player capable of producing magic, and we are not asking for that much.
Or throw in a waddle of cash on top and get Frenkie de Jong (not likely I know).
Wow, how fickle fans are eh.
Even when playing he has not been playing, how many times have the midfielders tried and send him a ball and he was late?I would not mind if he was actually playing for United. But in reality, he is just in the starting lineup. Very little actual playing.
Bit strong. Your sentence after is far more fair. It's been over a year of horrendous performances.
He's been a disgrace.
He's been here long enough now, it's not worked out and he's not the player we thought he would be, we need to move him on. Nothing fickle about that.
It’s not really fickle when it’s been this way for the best part of 2 years.Wow, how fickle fans are eh.

Mate, no we weren't. We won a game despite a bought off ref. If that's a pen we should've had 2 as well.Except that I didn't find anything positive about his performance, so please, learn to read before quoting me again. My point is, he has hardly played this season, we fielded a side full of players who have done so. Given that OGS isn't the greatest tactician amongst coaches, it was a game that was destined to fail. Take into account that even at full strength, we were a penalty save away from drawing with this team at the weekend and you have to put player performances into context.
Quite the first post on your part.

He never was no.9 material. Scoring a few goals while playing as a #9 doesn't make you one.I do hope reporter asked such question to Ole: what happened with Martial last season ? Two season ago he was definitely trending toward a proper No.9 for us, and I still can recall his header of typical No.9 style from Wan-Bissaka 's cross against Chelsea which helped us win the game, and his 1st hat-trick against Sheffield United at ease. We can talk about all crap against him for his current terrible form, but it's unfair to say he never was a No.9 material.
If Martial suffered depression or any psychological illness (quite likely caused by the pandemic and social lockdown), this should be a good timing that we release him from duty to properly treat it, and come back with full passion towards the games. From it appeared, Martial has lost passion and indifferent towards the games and results, which is a very typical syndrome of depression. Ole could disclose this so that crowd can stop guessing and harshly criticizing his performance (which could further worsen his case), then give some time and room for his recovery.
