Marouane Fellaini | Transfer Out Speculation: Tianjin Quanjian rejected chance to sign him

Surely Big Sam could do with Fellaini at Palace? He's big, he's tall, he's dirty, he should be able to head the ball... it's a match made in heaven.

You guys are brutal. I feel bady for him really. Apart from his Penalty give away against Everton this season, I never cursed him.

I don't hate him. Its not his fault that United were so stupid to sign him up. That doesn't mean that I will close an eye to the frigging obvious. He's not a MUQ player and by the looks of it he's not a Tianjin-Quanjian quality either.

Maybe he should start small and build his way up again. Is Redcafe organizing a 5 a side anytime soon? :p

If this is true, I love Jose. he isn't playing games. If he can offload the Rooneys, Bastians, Fellaini's, Youngs, we free up spaces for useful players or youngens

He was turned down by a Chinese club

To be fair it was probably his agent that offered him for an eye watering fee.

They'd take him on >£100k

I don't, it's an assumption and an opinion.

I don't think that a club whose got near unlimited funds and can only attract foreign players because they have money would be counting their pennies. Tianjin-Quanjian probably doesn't want Fellaini because they can attract better players.

When you sign a foreign player for the Chinese league you expect him to be better on the ball then the Chinese players - even if they usually lack motivation and are playing at walking pace. Fellaini simply isn't, so he'd still be battling in the air (which he doesn't do well enough anyway) and swinging elbows, which isn't very effective

but he is good with his chest and he's hardworking.

Yep. I'd say it's almost a certainty that it was his agent that just asked around to see what kind of wage he could get for him. Then if it was good he'd take those numbers back to Fellaini and try to get in his ear about moving.

Very, very doubtful we as a club would have been offering him around, considering how low we are in midfielders at the moment and that he seems to be next in line when we need to rest the main three.

It's all good. Moyes will inevitably end up in China soon and he will break the world record for Fellaini.

He's been a seasoned PL player for nearly 10 years. Belgian international. Of course he's going to be bloody better than the Chinese players who are in the beginning of the scale.

Even the shit pl players will look amazing compared to your average Joe's. There's a tiny percentage of making it big and they have. It's all relative.

I see Obi Mikel playing for the national team and he's a machine compared to the dull water carrier for Chelsea.

Obi Mikel had brilliant technique to begin with - there was a reason why he was so highly rated in the first place.

Fellaini will do the basic things faster and more accurate than your average Chinese player but the thing is, he isn't capable of a Scholes-esque diagonal pass or Lampard-esque shot from outside the box, even without any pressure. When you look at Rooney, for example, he isn't able to do those things consistently anymore when he is under pressure - but give him enough time and he will do it 9 times out of 10. You can give Fellaini the infinity and he still won't be able to pass/shoot like that.

Of course he still be a better player that your Chinese footballers, but the difference won't be that big, because the things that elevate great players from ordinary ones are, actually, his weakness.

I can assure you PL players with infinite time on the ball, who are trained every day for most of their life, have the technique and skill to execute those moves under no pressure. You don't get to that level by being a pure yard-dog.

Others are more gifted, more conditioned and suited for the speed of the game so a player like Fellaini and Mikel just to use an example play to their limitations. Put him in China or even Scotland where Scotty Brown is the midfield dynamo and they'll look better because the quality around him is inferior. Celtic regularly recruit from the Championship and piss the league.

It's not often you can categorically say you're the best footballer in the world when it comes to a particular skill but Fellaini can claim that.

There is no finer user of the chest when it comes to football than him, he's the best in the world at it. China would be fools to miss out on seeing that chest control live every week.

Complete non-story. Essentially circulating bait remarks that read more like an agent lauding how many names he has in his little black book. The only reason this is circulated is because Fellaini is a controversial figure among the fanbase and a solid tactic for garnering attention these days seems to be target the mock-outrage and wind them up for a quick fizz-whizz story.

Dog shite, why would you have Fellaini as one of your three foreign imports?

They can amazing attacking players, surely they wouldn't want a terrible midfielder.

. FM should have a Chest control attribute

Sounds very much like his agent shopping him around. If you're a bit part player at a major club you'd question your agent if they're not at least looking at options in China just now.

Saying that, I would be amazed if he is picked up by a Chinese club. In an expanding league they need the foreign players to be a big enough star to generate interest in the league or help develop the local players technically and tactically. Unfortunately for Fellaini it will be tough for him to pass on his greatest attribute to the local players of being tall.

You may want to visit the matchday thread.

I've been in the matchday thread plenty of times... I've never known Fellaini to inspire anything other than panicky posts about how he may cost us the game... certainly nobody's been talking about him as if he were a part of our first XI.

I read somewhere (sorry forgot where it was) today that Cannavaro is on the search for a Belgian player, but not Fellaini. He was interested in Mertens (Napoli) just before he became a "goal machine" (probably would be difficult for them to get him now). Read that he's also interested in Lukaku.

The Japanese league is the one for him, a Fellaini vs Godzilla series of promotions would be license to print money!

TBH, we cant really afford to lose anybody from now until end of season given the number of games coming up :nervous:

Next window however :D

The CSL transfer window closed Feb 28. Summer window opens June 19.

Tianjin has a good for nothing player in Pato. Hard to believe they analyse players and buy them

Any team wanting to play decent type of football will turn down Fellaini, but any team that wants to get a battering ram will snap him up if United made him available. Question is, who offered him up to the Chinese side, United or his agent. Apart from peak Fernondo Torres, no one has given Rio and Vidic a tougher time than Fellaini when he was at Everton. There is a reason Mourinho wants to keep him around.
