The amount of times he's come on as a plan B and had a positive impact is tiny anyway. People massively overstate how successful lumping it up to him has been.

None of the other top sides resort to hoof ball if plan A isn’t working, they tweak tactics or have other options. Ole isn’t making same mistake as his predecessors and resorting to a plan B that no other top team uses or wants to use. Wasn’t missed today and won’t be if he is moved on now or in the summer.

Lukaku was on the bench as a back-up striker, he's clearly a better striker than Fellaini who isn't even a striker. Fellaini may be better at that one specific thing as you point out but if Martial or Rashford had got injured then Lukaku was a better option to replace them with yesterdays tactics.

I meant regarding decisions on players. Just because you think something would be stupid doesn't mean it isn't happening.

I think Ole's plan when we came under pressure was to use a fresh Lukaku as an out-ball by clearing the ball into the channels to him to chase. As it happened, he ended up just loitering around in the middle of the pitch in an area where Fellaini would have been far more useful, but Fellaini would have been equally ineffective in the above gameplan as Rom ended up being.

I would have liked to have had Fellani on the bench yesterday. Would have been better to bring him instead of Lukaku, pushed Pogbas further up and kept Rashford up top.
Spurs were putting in cross after cross and the only guy in our team who consitantly wins headers in the box is Fellani.
I would have had him screening the CBs, Herrera and Matic helping out the full backs and Pogba, Lingard and Rashford upfront. Helps close out the game whilst giving us pace on th counter.

This isn’t necessarily true. Just as someone at the club had the good sense to tell José “Hey, we are not under any circumstances selling Martial” then perhaps the higher ups don’t view Felliani as a player who represents the type of football that they want for the club. I’m not necessarily saying that’s right or wrong, but it is a possibility.

There was also all the antics over his renewal last summer, when it was clear the club were happy to get rid, and he was only kept because Mourinho wanted him so badly. It begins to paint a picture that Felliani may not be too highly regarded at the club.

Very surprising if attitude is the issue. If anything, Fellaini is praised for keeping his head down and following instructions. I'm not so sure about this.

Yep. Whether it is Pogba/Jose or Fellaini/Ole, I don't like us not using certain players for reasons not related to their actual abilities. Fact is, Fellaini would have been useful for us yesterday.

That would be completely unnecessary of Ole given how beloved his by the crowd. Fellaini just doesn't strike me as an Ole (and in turn a Fergie) type of player irrespective of his attitude.

Agree, i feel the same way about Fellaini. Not sad he's leaving and not excited if he's staying. He has some traits that could be useful for a team that plays certain way. I know he's not the type we should sign but value what he did in certain games for the club.

Yeah theres a case to be made that he could have been more useful on the bench than one of those 3. But evidently Solskjaer just doesn't fancy Fellaini, whether thats down to his inability to play the type of football he's introducing, attitude behind the scenes or both is anyones guess.

Immediately thought the same thing yesterday when i seen Llorente coming on. It really highlights that we really desperately need to get some defenders who can head a ball other than Smalling.
