Easily his worst game this season so far, lacks mobility and reading of the game - like many here feared he will. Let's see if he can up his game after the break, hopefully he won't get another card (his attitude towards the ref was also worrying).

Most passes in the first half with an 89.1 percent accuracy, 2 interceptions, 1 clearance and 1 blocked shot but according to people in the matchday thread he is having a mare because he got booked :wenger:.

Ridiculous how people bash him so quickly. Two fouls, like you've stated, and he's been poor, awful etc.

He also lost a few duels near the box because of the slow response/bad positioning and had been lucky that it hadn't influenced the game

Excellent in the second half. Looks like the posters who posted here earlier can go back to hibernate till his next mispass

Dodgy in the first half. Second half very good except for one moment where Maloney turned away from him.

People were waiting so much to jump on his back it was a fun read in the matchday thread. Two fecking fouls, one yellow because he slipped when chasing a player and apparently he can't read the game anymore and is slow, nevermind that Rooney was constantly feeding Hull's counters putting everybody at risk so I'm surprised we ended up with just one yellow.

Very good second half, got most of the second balls we needed and there were seldom any counters.

Another good performance from the man, he was constantly breaking up play and moving the ball on to more creative players just like you would expect from a defensive midfielder like him.

You could really see in the matchday thread how some people have been waiting for him to make a mistake so they can get back to criticizing him, kind of sad that some people can't get over their own pride and support the team full out.

Yup. Fully agree.

Fully agreed.

They wanted Rooney out too.

Just be patient my friends. We look like a team and were unlucky a lot today.

This will be strange... but he was my MOM. He was everywhere today. He gave everyone the confidence I think to bomb on. Impressed would be an understatement right now. Long may it continue.

Just wait for one bad game. They will all be on here trying to tell us he wasn't even good in the opening games. It's going to happen. They've all managed to pretend he's never had a good game before this season already.

He was not dodgy at all the whole game. The booking was a bit shit from the ref.

People are waiting for shit like bookings to bash him. He did as good as he has done this season in that DM role today.

Can't believe the turnaround. What the hell was LVG doing with him that made me hate him so much?

Credit where it's due. He looks like a completely new player.

Superb job Fellani is doing; specially in the 2nd half. Every Hull clearance was won back by him. Helped us keep the continuous pressure..

You just hate him. Nothing to do with LVG.

Ironically, he had many decent to good game under LVG. The run we had in his first season against all big names, the guy was unplayable for a few games.

Thought he started a bit naff, improved a lot over the game, was his worst performance so far this season.

He played well. Stupid moment for the yellow card but overall very impressed again.

He did his job, which was very easy on this occasion as Hull hardly attacked us. I would have prefer Herrera to step in at half time, we may not have had to wait till extra time to score since he has the technique and vision make threaten balls. It wouldn't have make much difference to our defense.

Go ahead and crucify me for saying this. But truth is, he didn't really do anything that Herrera, Schneiderlin or Carrick could not have done this game, except those 3 players would have probably contributed more to our attack.

After getting a booking, you'd be justified to be wary of him getting another, but his performance was incredibly disciplined. Thought the booking was harsh, especially compared to Hull's non-stop fouling, some of which were the same situation and didn't get booked.

His range of passing was incredibly impressive today, even in the first half when Hull were pressing more. He didn't shit it when pressed like Carrick often does.

First half he looked like Fellaini of the past three seasons.

Second half he looked like the Fellaini of the current season.

Agree - although he was good in the second half, his contribution was mostly to pick up the countless Hull's clearances with no one to challenge him for them. It shouldn't count against him, of course, as he did everything right, but the positive overreaction here is every bit as wrong as his hatred earlier.

Very good 2nd half. Will be hard to oust him from the current team with how well he's played. Hopefully it continues.

Fair play to him he's doing a good job in midfield. Still a bit worried about how he'll cope against the better teams, but so far so good.

I distinctly remember Carrick getting a lot of flack during his first couple of seasons here. He turned out alright didn't he?

I'll be the first to admit that I've been unsure about Fellaini and his ability to do the job. Still not 100% convinced, but my word what an amazing job he did today. If he continues like this, he's going to be massive.

Fair play to him and to Mourinho for helping his game. Man of the match today, really bossed the midfield.

Dodgy start but did very well after. Won every ball in the air when Hull cleared their lines.
