Most passes in the first half with an 89.1 percent accuracy, 2 interceptions, 1 clearance and 1 blocked shot but according to people in the matchday thread he is having a mare because he got booked .
He also lost a few duels near the box because of the slow response/bad positioning and had been lucky that it hadn't influenced the gameRidiculous how people bash him so quickly. Two fouls, like you've stated, and he's been poor, awful etc.
Winning the ball over and over again for us. Fantastic 2nd half.very good outlet to win back position .
Thought he was in trouble after that unfortunate early yellow.Winning the ball over and over again for us. Fantastic 2nd half.
People were waiting so much to jump on his back it was a fun read in the matchday thread. Two fecking fouls, one yellow because he slipped when chasing a player and apparently he can't read the game anymore and is slow, nevermind that Rooney was constantly feeding Hull's counters putting everybody at risk so I'm surprised we ended up with just one yellow.
Very good second half, got most of the second balls we needed and there were seldom any counters.
Fully agreed.Another good performance from the man, he was constantly breaking up play and moving the ball on to more creative players just like you would expect from a defensive midfielder like him.
You could really see in the matchday thread how some people have been waiting for him to make a mistake so they can get back to criticizing him, kind of sad that some people can't get over their own pride and support the team full out.

You just hate him. Nothing to do with LVG.Can't believe the turnaround. What the hell was LVG doing with him that made me hate him so much?
Credit where it's due. He looks like a completely new player.
Yeah had a few loose touches at the beginning, and the booking, but really picked it up after that.Thought he started a bit naff, improved a lot over the game, was his worst performance so far this season.
Agree - although he was good in the second half, his contribution was mostly to pick up the countless Hull's clearances with no one to challenge him for them. It shouldn't count against him, of course, as he did everything right, but the positive overreaction here is every bit as wrong as his hatred earlier. He did his job, which was very easy on this occasion as Hull hardly attacked us. I would have prefer Herrera to step in at half time, we may not have had to wait till extra time to score since he has the technique and vision make threaten balls. It wouldn't have make much difference to our defense.
Go ahead and crucify me for saying this. But truth is, he didn't really do anything that Herrera, Schneiderlin or Carrick could not have done this game, except those 3 players would have probably contributed more to our attack.
