Mario Balotelli

Yesterday, for the very first time, Moratti stated that he will sell Balotelli if the right offer comes. He set the price to 40 million euros but he's clearly not worth so much money. I think he would perfectly suit Arsenal's playing style but if he really goes (still unlikely in my opinion) he might join again the manager that made him debut in January 2008 and who got the best out of him : Mancini.

Good player but a silly boy, like Melo. And the stupid are dangerous for a team

That's alot of money and I cannot see anyone paying that amount.. I would like to see him come to us despite his attitude problems..

P.S With all these Sneijder rumors about do you think there is any chance Inter will even consider selling him? I don't think he would be allowed to leave unless he asks to leave surely?

0930 BST:Inter Milan have turned down an offer for their 19-year-old striker Mario Balotelli from Premier League side Manchester City, according to the player's agent. (Press Association)

Manchester United are determined to go head to head with Manchester City and match any bid for Inter striker Mario Balotelli, according to Sky Sports Italia.

Balotelli, 19, is rated as the hottest talent in Italian football despite regularly getting into trouble with ex-head coach Jose Mourinho. His agent, Mino Raiola, recently confirmed the Citizens had made an offer for the player and United are determined to stop them having a clear run at him.

The Old Trafford outfit are reported to have made contact with the Inter hierarchy and told them of their intention to go toe-to-toe with neighbours. Although Balotelli has declared his intention to stay with the club despite eyeing a future move to England, the offer of Champions League could tip the balance in United's favour.

I get the feeling either Skysports Italia are using our name to attract traffic to their website or they have genuinely confused us with City.

Considering that they have mentioned city as another bidder, its probably the former rather than the later.

I'd take Balotelli in a second, he could and probably will be a world star in 2 or 3 years

He's been constantly racially abused in Italy, I dont blame the poor attitude on him or at least all of it, Silva is something like 4-5 years older than Balotelli anyways

Not that we’ll ever sign him anyway but even so id honestly be very sceptical of him coming here, his attitude stinks and hed likely cause no small amount of conflict within the camp, last thing we need is some arrogant up himself teenager waltzing into Carrington thinking hes the bees knees.

He aggravates the abuse by generally acting like an arrogant petulant little child. Would you like to have a bet as to how good he'll be in two years?

yes. i think he'd be ridiculously good if he comes here and is under the stewardship of alex ferguson.

That's a bold statement, while SAF's very good at getting the best out of young players, he hasn't got anything like a 100% track record, it says a lot that a manager as good as Mourinho at man management, gave up on Ballotelli.

I have sky sport Italia and Mr Raiola (agent) was contacted via phone and he said,
"With Mario (Balotelli) we look at the stature of a club, and Manchester is the Biggest club in the world"

He never mentioned any bids or for that matter any concrete interest.

Inter striker Mario Balotelli is set to flee from the club and join either Manchester City or Manchester United as his agent Mino Raiola heads to England to meet directors of both clubs.

Il Corriere dello Sport reports Raiola will listen to both clubs as they make their pitch for the Italian striker. And whichever offers the best package for his client will have to shell out €40 million to sign him from the treble champions.

The Nerazzurri will be prepared to sell their hitman for such a fee and Raiola's English meeting is likely to accelerate a deal. Inter will then turn their focus to Edinson Cavani of Palermo or Liverpool's Dirk Kuyt, but the Dutchman recently claimed he was happy at Anfield, whereas the Rosanero have said they will not sell their striker to Inter.

Meanwhile, negotiations for Maicon are still turned off as Real struggle to up their €25m offer - considered €10m too little by Inter president Massimo Moratti.

Jose Mourinho is eager to sign the Brazilian, but he needs to obtain permission from Florentino Perez before offering his former club more cash for the transfer. If the deal collapses then Inter will keep the stopper and offer him a new deal including a wage increase.

I doubt that he will go for anywhere near that price and I hope we get him, he is a hot head but Fergie is the master and with the amazing natural gifts Balotelli has he can be turned into a world beater at United IMO.

I hope we go nowhere near this lad.

Eric Cantona was trouble some thought but he found the right club for him and it could be the same with this kid. Do we need him? ie can he get 20+ a season? not sure

The only doubt I would have over the signing is how it effects our lineup as we are currently fully stocked with strikers. I could see him playing as an outside forward in a 4-2-3-1 but again thats still a tight fit.

Certainly a great option to rotate with Valencia and Nani. Be great when we play 4-4-2 too. If he is brought in, might be the end for Berba though.

sounds like another robinho

arrives at city all smiles - 3 months later he wants out

I'm not a big fan of his, but he'd be a great addition at the right price.

Manchester United chasing Mario Balotelli, claims agent - Transfers - ESPN Soccernet

Mario Balotelli's agent has confirmed that Manchester United and Manchester City are in the race to sign the Inter Milan striker.

Mario Balotelli won the Treble at Inter Milan last season

Balotelli is under contract with Inter for another three seasons but the Italian club would be willing to let him go for the right price, reported to be €40 million, and agent Mino Raiola is heading to England to begin negotiations.

"The interest of Manchester for Balotelli is concrete and both clubs have confirmed it," Raiola to Calcio Mercato. "The player is clearly happy to be followed by [Manchester United coach Sir Alex] Ferguson.

"But I cannot exclude that in the end the player will remain at Inter or play in a different club with respect to the English outfit. In any case we will we will take every step with calmness and evaluate each time the situation."

Balotelli is highly-rated in Italy but his hot-headed nature saw him fall out with former Inter boss Jose Mourinho on numerous occasions last season.

New Nerazzurri coach Rafael Benitez said earlier on Monday that he did not wish for any player to leave the club before he has had a chance to work with them in training. Benitez said: "I want to speak to him [Balotelli] and get to know him better as a person. All the quality players are important to me. But I need to see him, get to know him and see how he works."

Balotelli, 19, was among the 20 players present at the opening of Inter's pre-season training in Appiano Gentile on Monday.
