We are in a serious position to push for top 2 down based on current form, and we are proposing this guy just because he is cheap, I guess I trust ETH judgement based on things so far but would rather get someone from the championship than a guy who YT compilers cannot even make good

No way we spend to get him in January when we can get him for free in the summer. Just focus on Felix who is clearly the superior player.

You’d rather a guy from the championship than a player who played for the World Cup runners up this year?

Have never paid much attention to YT when it made poor players look good,so not going to start when it makes someone look bad

We need goals more than creativity, someone who is a clinical finisher would make a real difference

"Creeping into the conversation"? I'd like to see some sort of GIF of that

Of course

Yeah this would just be typical and find it mad we can't find £10m to sign him. Felix on loan and this guy would have been quality window but couldn't afford both.

Wasn't it stipulated that they had to invest 1.75b into the club over the next 10 years? Seems they're planning to do it in 1! Crazy.

Annoying. How have we let it get to the stage where we don't have £10m to spend?

I don't think it is about money. I think that ETH is not interested in him.

It does feel like eventually Chelsea are linked to every player we are. Becoming tedious.
That said I guess there is no guarantee any of this ‘news’ is legit. We might not even want him!

Yes Chelsea is his level. Good business for both. Thank god it’s not us wasting more money, which we don’t have right now.

Or, that's media and agent-fueled rumours and not necessarily facts.
This could be nonsense but them trying to sign Enzo and Mudryk this January is most certainly fact. As are the 11 players they’ve signed since Boehly took over. Plus they’ve signed Nkunku for the summer - so we’re at 12. I’m also confident them trying to sign the majority of Richarlison, Gordon, De Jong, Alvarez, Raphinha, Kounde, Marquinhos and Gvardiol (I’ve likely forgotten some others Todd went after on his summer magical mystery tour) was true as their bids were widely reported by multiple reliable journalists across the patch at the time. And then there was the Ronaldo interest on top. As such I’m fairly confident in my joking assertion that they want to sign all the players in the world - much like certain posters on the Caf.
Strange if that's the case because seems like a young talent looking to make step up
Why is it strange we don’t want to sign another right footed attacker who’s best position is where rashford plays and who hasn’t shown anything to date in his career indicating he’s better than a fit martial as a striker? Most of us are 50-50 on if Martial is good enough after this season so why are we bringing in an inferior player? You bang on about it only being 10m - even putting aside that is actually real money this guy isn’t going to play for free - he’ll want a wage and a 4/5 year contract on top. So what’s the total cost? Is he good enough to be a viable option in a squad being built to win the big prizes? Or do you want him simply because he’s available, has 2 legs and anyone will do for the next 5 months - and then in the summer you’ll be screaming for yet another signing to replace him? Not really convinced that’s the way top clubs build squads. If we’re bringing in a player who ultimately isn’t good enough going for the future and is just cover it needs to be a loan. Oddly enough that’s what the club has briefed we want to do. Maybe ETH and co know what they’re doing.

How are we wasting money exactly

He’s not very good. Would you buy Maguire for £20m (English Tax) with 6 months left because we have a small pool of CBs at the club?

As the manager said.. we need to stick to the right players.

Not unless I had a team who suited Maguire

Why are you confident they were truly in for the players you listed?

Nah. He ain't a talent. Gakpo is the talent.
Personally think Gakpo is going to be a bust for Liverpool. Absolutely hated that signing for us and it was the rare occasion I was happy for Liverpool to beat us to a signing.
