I remember Mitten saying last year at some point that one of the only United players he’s ever struggled with as a journalist was Rashford, and he has a fantastic rapport with most players.
He’s made numerous comments about him being advised poorly as well.

These types of posts are hilarious. Either you didn't bother to watch the video for the 30s it would have taken or you've no idea how journalism works, and he never tore down his character at all.

He said he was told off the record so he couldn't have reported it on any of it at the time.

Now it's come to a head, he can say that all of the previous managers had issues with Rashford without going into specifics and betraying confidences. If you print something you were told off the record, you won't have much of a career in journalism.

I am quite sad about it really and I think any true United fan should be. It seems obvious Rashford has lost his way over the past few years and I suspect the turmoil at the club as he has been developing hasn’t helped.

I’m not sure what kind of character he is but I suspect he’d of benefited coming through when we had stability in and around him, and leadership on and off the pitch. I always felt something was off with him. Very sad as he is a local lad. The way he came in and instantly made an impact was incredible. Something happened along the way. The ego was probably already big on the kid, but it most certainly grew with time.

Mitten has been hinting for a long time that Rashford has issues, if you’ve ever listened to any of his podcasts. He is also very well sourced, he’s just not a headline journalist. He specialises in long form pieces, the stories of clubs/players and terrace culture.

Has anyone considered that Rashford, having given the infamous interview the week before it was revealed, has sat down with Amorim and been honest with him, actually stating that he wants a move and feels that his future is away from the club.

As a result, Amorim has made the decision that it’s best for all parties to go their ways and ultimately, there is no point in Rashford being in the match day squad. If Amorim has him in the squad, there is an unnecessary pressure to put him on the pitch where he will probably stink the place out, especially in light of recent results.

I’d take Andy Mittens opinion over Henry Winters any day of the week.

Why do people in our fanbase tie themselves up in knots to defend the indefensible.

Rashford had the world on a plate - and has spectacularly fecked it up. Only has himself to blame, not Ole, not Rangnick and not ETH.

His PR team can spin whatever way they want, but they are now coming face to face with reality - any top team with a half decent scouting system will run a mile from Rashford.

I like Mitten overall, even though he can be a bit of a broken record at times, he’s very well informed through his strong relationships with players and ex-players. He's always been very cautious and subtle when speaking about Marcus, which we now know is because he’s known the facts for a long time but hasn’t been able to speak out about it out of respect for his sources.

I do wonder what has triggered him to be open about it now though. I can’t see it being off his own accord / jumping on the band wagon as that doesn’t seem like his style. Maybe one of those sources has given him the okay, maybe the club has had some say over protecting him but they’ve now removed those shields.

I suppose your last sentence that's sort of the point I'm getting on it. Nothing he says matches up to the reality of the situation. Saying things like: This club means so much... I give my all every time I step on the pitch" etc
We can all see that's not true. I just don't see how his latest statement helps him at all if he really does want the play football which as you point out is in doubt at this stage.
