So he’s not fit for this level? There’s a difference between Tevez and Rooney and this walking around that Rashford does. The ‘not enough in the tank’ for counters is just excuses. He’s a young fit fellow who isn’t good enough to justify the poor output defensively. If he genuinely is incapable then he should gradually be replaced.

there was something recently suggesting this is potentially the managers instructions. I think that’s probably the case as he did a lot more defensive work vs Arsenal and Saka.

was not happy with his mental side of the game from years. The key differentiator between face of the club & other players is DESIRE. something that we associate with likes of Cantona, Bruce, Keane, Scholes, Giggs, Cole, Yorke, Beckham, Ronaldo, Rooney. He's got nothing close to these guys in terms of mentality. He has been playing in the first team for 7 years, good enough sample size. He's got a good strike in him but that's about it.
If he's the best attacker & un-droppable we have to offer as the team, then we will be around 4th to 8th.

amazing he’s made it as a professional footballer when all he can do is strike a ball well :wenger:

Thats the thing if you grew up with those teams/players. Its so jarring having this new breed held up on pedestals to be so underwhelming on the basics of effort, fight and attitude

Wouldn’t it be due to us not being in the Champions league last season? Think all our players get a 25% bonus for when we are in the Champions league and therefore don’t get that when we don’t qualify
Hm. But if that is what it is, given we are back in UCL, Sancho *is* currently getting 350K/week, again? While playing Playstation all night?

What more do you want? Yes he's not done it before and therefore we should never expect him to change.
If he won't change, he doesn't play. That would be my attitude. You won't get anywhere with half-arsed, sulky players. It simply doesn't work unless everyone is plugged in.

I never understood how we lost certs standards at United.

SAF would not have accepted this.

5 year £91m contract = £18.2m per year = £350k per week
He's not on that, The Athletic report when he signed stated a lot less,
The £350k figure was a myth perpetuated by the red tops and lapped up by fans looking for a reason to moan.

Not controversial, but feck me times change. Couldn't move on here for people moaning about Rooney too for the majority of his time at United.
Majority of his time at United? Not sure about that. The last few years maybe, when he started visibly slowing down.

Majority of his time at United? Absolutely bollocks and you know it as well. But who cares, eh? let’s just say it anyway.

Thats not true at all. He was well past his sell by date by the time he left United and he was another example of a player that should have been moved on about 3+ years before he was but for a large part of his time at United he was brilliant and very few were complaining about him.

Of course he was brilliant. Possibly the player that has brought me more moments of sheer joy than any other. That wasn't my point.

Generally any player who sticks around for a long time gets to a point where familiarty breeds contempt, and they become the target of scorn and doubt, when they are either individually out of form or the club is having a leaner spell. Unsurprisingly, once they leave and some time passes, memories becomes far more positive again.

Just read a Rooney thread where people said we should take the money for him due to his inconsistency (i.e. he had gone a few games without a goal) and buy David Villa or Mario Gomez, which is the same stupidity we have with Rashford every season... and more than 10 years' on, it is many of the same people who cannot post constructively on Rashford, who couldn't do the same on Rooney back then.

As i said earlier. Different qualities. He is a sprinter not a marathon runner.

We had this same talk 15 years ago when Berbatov was here. Just accept that player bring different qualities and not every is the same.

"Current chief executive Richard Arnold, director of football John Murtough and manager Erik ten Hag want to avoid a culture of dressing-room jealousy.

Senior players like Raphael Varane, Harry Maguire, Casemiro and now Fernandes are all in the same pay bracket (£180,000 to £200,000 a week), with sanctions if they fail to qualify for the Champions League. The idea is to have more players paid at that level rather than splash out £500,000 a week on individual superstars.

"

Jadon Sancho - £262,500

United agreed to pay Jadon Sancho £350,000-per-week when he joined the club from Borussia Dortmund. But 12 months on, his pay has been cut by almost £100,000-per-week, giving him a weekly wage of £262,500-per-week. Improved performances from the 22-year-old this season could see United return to the Champions League.

This is from Aug 22.
You do realise 75% of 350k is 262.5, right? Which is the contractual reduction of being shite and not making the CL the previous season where Sancho actively was rubbish.

Care to give any examples of the posts you think should be deleted / infracted?
This is probably one of Sancho's team that's found his way on the forum and thinks any criticism of the Maze Runner is an insult.

I'm not sure why you're quoting exactly what I posted - which states he's no longer on 350k because of CL reductions, then act like I don't understand the very thing that i posted telling people about?

Hm, well hard to follow what's happening. Seems like we're on the same page.

Apologies in any case.

It would make sense that they're ETH's instructions to Rashford, but that would go against what he has said to the media.

Erik just on the defensive record, does it start from that, trying to tighten up at the back?

“No, it's about 11 players who do their job. As I said many times, here in this place and I tell my players. We attack with 11, we defend with 11. When one or two are not doing the job, it's like a pack of cards and then it is not only one or two players.”
Here is a question from a journalist and his answer before the Burnley game.

We're back in the CL this season though, so technically it probably is true that he is on 350k, ie he's no longer on 262.5k

what will happen to him after he lost his pace and athleticism? CR7 was already a deadly finisher by 23 meanwhile Rashford is still making wrong decision at 25.

Rashford is levels below CR7. I'm struggling to recall the last time a player at this club got a big extension and didn't turn to shite.

25 games without a goal. Provides very little in attack beyond end output anyway, so he's fully on fraud watch.

Just like Shaw. Both play like men possessed for new contracts then relax.

The point was about him being shite since March. Not trying to 'lie'.

Doesn't change the fact he's awful
He's obviously not awful.

The over the top reactions on here are embarrassing quite frankly.

He's about as awful as you can get when you consider the players in the 300k/week bracket.

He's not helping the team and looks like he plays for himself.

That's most players at the club. And why should it be any different (in their minds)? They all realize that a few good games in their contract year will trigger a new contract and cause the club and the fans to forget all the previous years of stinkers. Hell, I fully expect fans to start calling for Martial to be given an extension if he stays fit for a month or two and scores a few goals.

Don't even try this you will be reminded next time he does something nice that you have an agenda or something..
