Everyone needs a break once in a while
He's definitely a player with flaws, but we never seem to learn. We run him into the ground and then seem amazed when he gets injured or doesn't play well.
I'm calling out your bs.Any one claiming hes been ran into the ground is just making excuses for him. Hes been like it for 18 months at least. Hes had rest in that period.
Hes just lazy and not particularly smart with his play at all.
That's not really the point I'm making, but yeah, selection is down to the manager. Albeit, I'm sure he'd argue that he could give the likes of Rashford a week off here and there if he had players like Sancho in his squad, for example.Wonder whose fault that might be.

Nah.It's true.
He's had rest within the past 18-24 months but he has been deminstrating this laziness and poor game IQ that whole time.
He's undroppable due to lack of options and he knows it.
Spot on. Glad this is finally gaining traction. I’ve been saying this for months. He’s lazy, has no impetus/urgency on the ball like Greenwood and has half the talent the kid does. He’s a 1 in 4 finisher and only has the amount of goals he does because of volume. We really have had little to choose from other than him. It's true.

Nah.
Although his decision making does need to improve, I'll agree with that.
This. He is playing through injury as we have inadequate cover. For RW.This entire season, I've always felt he's carrying an injury seeing him play. Just not as nimble, seems a second off pace all the time. Also, the way he crutches his back whenever he goes down is a tad scary. It'd be a bit shit if he's risking long term issues because we don't have anyone else we can rely on. Especially given he's hardly a world beater on current form.
His top level is probably what Son Heung Min is now. Something like that.
I just think we are not even trying to get the best out of him. He is just kinda there.
I just feel he can be a lot better under a real manager and yes I do think its all down to that especially in games like vs Leipzig or City where we set up so negatively with about 75 DM's.
What a poor load of excuses for a player that shows no urgency, no intelligence and no desire through effort.
Every season (except his first debut season) is always up and down. His form has been very up and down this season. Still I think he's very important to our play style even he's playing poorly.
Maybe he don't like to press anymore, and our manager no longer insist on our players to do press well.I’m convinced something isn’t right with him in terms of work rate. I think he’s been carrying injuries for upwards of 12 months, and it looks to me like he’s really struggling to press, or being told not to.
He certainly isn't finding that form. We need proper competition for him. He just doesn't have any sharpness or instinct at the moment.
Mediocre Marcus. When you aren’t that talented you jolly well bust a gut and work at least as hard as the others.
