Super sloppy. Passing was off more often than not and all around pretty bad performance. Wasn't alone thought Martial and Mata where awful too but improvements needed after the break.
 
Terrible performance. Wasted so many good situations with either a poor pass or being caught in possession.
 
Needs to get in gear quickly. We're so much better when he is.
 
Merge the Rashford and Martial performance thread.

These two have gone completely off the boil.

I agree he was poor today and very sloppy but Martial's kit doesn't even need washing today. He was shocking and deserved to come off. Regressed massively.

True, but Rashford was still incredibly poor today.

Badly need Rashford to hit his best form because we are a completely different team when hes at his best

I dunno about this. He is becoming world class in his out to in runs.
Hes not got a habit of just thumping the ball as hard as he can when he sees the keeper but he's rinsing fullbacks at some stage every game.
There is that pen record stat but he must be after the get into a 1v1 situation record.
I do think we are falling into a habit of saying if a forward doesn't score, he hasnt played well. I think our forward line today gave Everton a lot of problems.
Its telling that our fanbase just has to bash the players after a good result, it makes no sense.

Both where terrible today regardless of past performances. Both deserve criticism regardless of past performances.

You could have tossed a coin to chose which came of both let down what was a good team performance.
 
I don’t know if anybody else picked up on it, but his attitude in the 90th minute was an absolute disgrace.

He was knocked off the ball on our right flank and just moped about near our box while Digne was able to put in not just one, but two, crosses.

I can forgive a shit game, but not that kind of thing.
 
He has been terrible since the hattrick. Hope he recovers soon. Really weird.
 
Poor today. I'm used to him missing chances, that's just how he plays, but today he kept running down blind alleys, losing easy balls and messing up passes.
 
Martial is usually inconsistent.
The thing about Rashford performances is that they're down to his own brainlessness.
Loses the plot way too often in games.
 
I thought he was abysmal today. Does some tidy things and makes some decent runs but constantly makes the wrong decision and loses the ball.
When Fred was completely open down the left after Rashford’s good run I knew before it happened he was never going to play him in.

It’s like he’s playing with complete tunnel vision.

Agenda? He was absolutely awful today and everyone is clearly pointing that out.

He got his due praise after the Leipzig game where he was excellent and even after the PSG game even though he was pretty poor aside from the winner.

You bringing up Martial in this thread shows you're the problem.
 
He needs to be more clinical and ruthless in this sort of game. Sometimes that's just playing a simple ball. The stuff he's trying instead makes his life more difficult than it needs to be.

It was the same in the PSG game, okay he scored the winner but he could have had us out of sight earlier on.

I don't want to join the pile on too much but some of his body language is starting to suggest he thinks he's the finished article, which isn't the case.
 
He wasn't good today. But he still played a big part in the second goald which will see him directly involved in another goal through an assist. I dont understand why a lot of the poster on here feel the need to talk only about the negative and dont mention the positive.

Spotted that too — it was when he lost the 50/50 with Calvert Lewin and walked back.
 
Watched Ole’s interview but still couldn’t understand the part about Rashford’s injury. What kind of injury might he have picked up? Has anyone heard anything?

Then the international break has come at the right time for him. We need to stop this habit of playing him injured. We don't get the best out of him when he's physically struggling. Also, we did it last season and he ended up out for six months.
 
I'm actually fairly happy with what I saw today. Not because he played well (he didn't), but because it's another game where he's looking like the injury isn't having an impact anymore. He's looking fairly confident again and taking players on even though it didn't really work for him. Compare that to how he was playing after his return last season and in most of the games this season where his entire playstyle has been different, as if the injury was still weighing on his mind. That's now three games recently (Newcastle, Leipzig and Everton) where the way he played was more similar to his normal style, so I'm going to take that as a positive even if he didn't actually play well.

Martial was worse. As sloppy as Rashford was and he was bleeding sloppy no doubt. At least he was involved and trying. I didn't even know Martial was on the pitch for most of the game until he came off. Total passenger.

Probably why Rashford stayed on and he didn't. Effort.

Why can you never talk about Rashford without mentioning Martial? And Martial has 2 gold. Seems like you’re the one with an agenda.

Because you lot treat them differently and it drives me mad.

Martial hasn't even had a shot on target yet in 4 league games let alone a goal. And his only goal in all comps was a penalty.

Rashford, as bad as he was today, has been a lot better than Martial so far this season. 8 goals and counting. Start calling it fairly.

This is the Rashford thread, I don’t know why you expect people to be bashing Martial here. Take a look at Martial’s thread and you’ll see plenty of criticism.
You’ve clearly got an agenda, as I said in my last post, Martial has 2 goals this season. He scored a header in the last game. Strange poster.

The bit in bold should have been your only contribution to this thread. If you want to discuss Martial (who I agree was absolutely rubbish today) then use the Martial thread.

Thanks! I doubt Southgate will leave him out, he loves playing him all the time. Really hope Rashford withdraws even if he has a minor injury.

Yeah I forgot Martial got the goal the other night in that horror show in Turkey. Apologies.

Rashford has 8 though surely if that goal today is given to him.

Either way both can be great and both can be frustrating but the reason I prefer Marcus as when he's playing poorly, like he did today, he's still involved and running his Travellers off. Martial could have been playing hide and seek today. Total passenger.

I don't think either are a massive problem though. They will both amaze and frustrate. Just wish fans on this forum would treat them equally. Rashford gets way more stick.
 
Scores a hattrick two games back and his form plummets ? what ? Bizarre player.
 
Played his part today but was quite wasteful. No need to pile on, but he does need a bit of coaching/polishing. Almost every time he gets the ball, he just wants to put his head down and run with it. Half the time it's the wrong option. And most times he just runs into a crowd and loses the ball. Needs to make better decisions and play the ball more than running with it. Surely the coaching team can see this.
 
Was bad today. But he tried. Recently he has been bad and at the same time looked disinterested, but today he kept trying even though it didn't work out, which I like to see.

Yeah even an out of form Rashford is involved in the game, when Martial is out of form he’s an absolute passenger
