Marcus Rashford confidant thinks some critics are "bullying" him.

Never trust a player that doesn’t track back to defend.

His reaction to criticism has indicated that he's surrounded himself with people who have convinced him it's all unfounded.

The core issue has always been his application. His talent, abilities and skills limitations aside. It's the multitude of times during the last two or so years where he's clearly, demonstrably and undeniably has completely half-arsed a game.

Worth recalling that Utd linked higher season ticket prices to Keane’s new contract when Roy was at his peak. Of late, the club have over indulged certain home grown talent to sacrifice on the pitch success for commercial gain.

Currently looks like he’s being ‘bullied’ into pretending to want to be a footballer. Absolutely scandalous lack of effort. Just walks round the pitch trying to stay as uninvolved as possible. If you don’t want to play football anymore Marcus then just retire.

Anyone rushing to this thread mid game is showing themselves up and probably a bit of a moany cnut tbh

Yes the last thing we should be doing is noticing how he plays. We should be slagging off the rest of the players in the match day thread instead

Feck him. Everything that's wrong with the club...... errrrrr..... with football. Spoiled, entitled prats. Just do your fecking job and nobody will "bully" you.

He definitely must be up there to have played for the most man utd managers

LVG, Mourinho, Solskjaer, Carrick, Rangnick, ETH. Lindelof and Dalot one less. De Gea though had also Moyes and SAF, and Giggsy as interim, so 9.

he helps see off another manager. expect to see some stories about how impressed the new manager is with him in training coming to a rag near you.

And he really hasn't hit his prime, he'll have more managers than goals rate his going, obviously joking but that needs a looking at

This is the main thing that worries me about Amorim will the bad apples chew him up and spit him out. I hope he lights a fire under the lot of them and makes clear any laziness and half hearted performances will simply not be tolerated

I hope he picks players based on performance we've seen way too much of favourites being picked no matter the performance

Love how some fans think a 17/18 year old Rashford was influential enough to get rid of Van Gaal and Jose

No thank you or farewell message from Rashford on socials?
The silence is deafening! We will no doubt soon get tweets about a "reinvigorated" squad enjoying training in the new regime.

Fast forward a few months and we will start to get the usual vetching about "lack of clarity" "uncertainty over training methods" etc from "sources" that can't be arsed to work hard.

I bet Rashy thinks he will just be able to flick a switch and start performing...I think he may realise that he has wasted one of the key periods of his career in a big sulk.

If it wasn’t apparent already I think this confirms he simply doesn’t have the mentality to be at the club anymore. Clearly lacks the motivation and professionalism.

Hoping Amorim sees it that way too and the club back him in wanting to move him on in the summer.

Can't be blamed for that.

LVG's football was boring people to death with his utter garbage zombie passing football by numbers. He had to go because of that.

Jose did his standard 3rd season strop and was actively looking to be sacked from the summer. He got what he wanted.

Agreed. The star winger going totally off the boil for 18months had no impact at all.
Equal blame weighting with the star CB or star LB being injured for an entire season? Or the newly signed world’s greatest goalkeeper actually being somewhere between average and terrible? Or maybe the potential GOAT star striker throwing a strop, doing an interview trashing the manager and then walking out?
Anyone would think football is a team sport. More fool them, eh?

I know and for some reason he is also getting blamed for Carrick and Rangnick

That ship has sailed. Or sank. Whichever suits this situation best. I fear we are stuck with him and his ridiculous wages. Same as Shaw. Same as Bruno.
I reckon Ineos would have moved them on when the time was right. Maybe its too late as you say.

I think there's a collective responsibility from the players to perform to a certain level, basic minimum has to be working hard and at least trying. We've all seen it across the board at loads of clubs where players collectively just seem to give up under a manager, it happens, it's probably just down to a lack of belief, confidence or motivation.

It does happen and it's happened at Utd under several managers since SAF retired. Players who've been involved across a few of those will get more blame than others. Lindelof has now seen off 3 managers and 2 interims, but he doesn't get as much blame as others.

Anyway, there's been a hell of a lot more wrong at the club than just Rashford. As fans we can the see inconsistent/sup par performances conflicting with his standing within the club.

That's where people see it becoming a problem for coaches, you have this guy who's been the local lad come good and is generally seen as a poster boy for everything good about Utd. But, then you weigh that against what he's actually delivering on the pitch and what he gets paid. Then you see where the problem for a coach can be picked up from the outside.

Whilst I wouldn't blame him for the situation as a whole with Rangnick, he was atrocious when Ralf was in charge.

He was obviously having a mardy at being told to do a different role/put more effort in and so went into everything with as minimal effort as possible. It got to the point where it looked like he was actively sabotaging good positions because he wanted to go back to being a left winger who cuts in all the time.

Why is there an idea that someone would give us over 60 million for this waste of space? They'd not do that AND cover his contract. We are lumbered with him. I think it would be a pretty nominal fee if there was any chance of ever getting rid.

I've never understood the PSG links. Part of me does suspect that his agent just leaks this for contract negotiations and the press just reports it like it's fact.

You may not be wrong, but Mbappe leaving for Madrid opened up a space for Rashford to potentially fill, and gives some legitimacy to the rumors.
