Hope he adds goals to his performances till the end of the season. Need Villa to activate that clause.
They’d need champions league to be able to afford him. Even then his wages are going to be an issue. Their top paid player is on about half his wages are going, so he’s going to smash their wage structure, which I don’t think they want to.Hope he adds goals to his performances till the end of the season. Doesn't have to be Villa keeping him. Hopefully his good form gets interest from elsewhere too, they could trigger the clause and sell him for higher. They’d need champions league to be able to afford him. They are not going to ‘trigger the clause and see him for higher’. Just think about the complete impracticality of doing such a thing - even before you consider the player would need to agree. Umm, why not? Not the first time it would have happened. They are not going to ‘trigger the clause and see him for higher’. Just think about the complete impracticality of doing such a thing - even before you consider the player would need to agree. This is not football manager.
I would not write this in a Villa forum but he is not exactly setting the world on fire is he? His performances are similar to when he played for us the past year, maybe putting in an extra shift to prove people wrong.
That being said Villa is absolutely his level and when he gets a decent contract offered by them which guarantees him his England place as well.
Long may it continue. PL, Fa Cup and CL - enough games for him to get decent G/A and convince them (or some other club) that he's worth the money. He’s been bang average! Ran around a bit more but other than that it’s been typical Rashford performances. It’s just the ABU media and oppo fans hyping up his performances as a stick to beat Utd with. If he’d been playing like that for us he’d be getting slaughtered never mind earning England call ups. They like to claim Utd was the problem yet he scored 2 goals in his last game for us which is still better than anything he’s done since joining Villa.
Only clubs who're going to pay a decent fee are PSG or one of the Saudi clubs. He won't go to Saudi and PSG are no longer interested in him. So we'll probably have to pay him off for the 2 years left on his deal in the summer. Lets say 15 million. He wants to go to Barca, who don't need him, as better players already in situ.Doesn't have to be Villa keeping him. Better energy than his average Utd performance over the last few years. Otherwise very much the player who left us. Got himself in to dangerous positions, linking with Bellingham, but failed to do much from them. Then was less involved second half and was taken off.Was he any good for England tonight?

He was fine. Not amazing but not terrible. Lots of endeavour and some nice moments without every really truly effecting the game.
He was much better then Foden on the other side, who was terrible.
This pulling out of challenges must be a mental thing now. I saw one and it wasn't even a blood and thunder challengeAs well as what @DOTA said he Pulled out of at least 2 challenges (very noticeable) which the commentary pulled him up on and the crowd sighed too. Both led to dangerous situations.
Yep thought the same.He was fine. Not amazing but not terrible. Lots of endeavour and some nice moments without every really truly effecting the game.

Yeah I’m not getting the media’s take on Rashfords move to Villa. From what I’ve seen he has put in a bit more effort, which was expected, probably looks a bit happier, which was expected, but no goals or match winning performances. Last night’s performance wasn’t setting the world alight either. As usual, what people believe about a player is largely defined by the coverage they receive in the media.
Rashford the United player
"Goal drought continues, now 8 without a goal for £350,000p/w flop"
Rashford on loan at Villa
"Rashford renaissance continues with lively performance for England following recall"
I think that's a big part of why he's moved on as well. The heat in the kitchen became too much for him here, like it does for so many others, and he needed the change in environment.Yeah I’m not getting the media’s take on Rashfords move to Villa. If was playing like that at United the media would be roasting him.
I watch almost full game and it was the same rashford we know. Driving forward little bit and that was only happening due to opposition allowing it, just to loose the ball at the end or pass it back. This was a good opportunity to do something as there was a good amount of time and space for him - something opposite to club football I think.Zero shots at goal, after playing 74 minutes for a team that had 74% possession. Also zero aerial duels. Sounds a bit shit, to be honest. Hojlund would be getting dogs abuse for a performance like that.

“Rashford faded a little as the game went on. Not everything he tried came off. But for a player basically written off at this level, sucked deep into the Manchester United abyss, it has been a stunning return to form, a reminder that this is a player of rhythm and confidence, who needs to feel good to do good. His work off the ball was ferocious. His relentless running in behind was a reminder of what he brings to this role that – say – Phil Foden and Jack Grealish do not.”

Nah I think his times up. The only way he returns is if we perhaps have no interested takers who can afford him/he’s unwilling to budge on salary negotiations etc. Also, seems Ineos wants to get that wage bill under control as well.I do get the feeling he'll come out and say he wants to return to United and fight for his place. He's young enough that I think Amorim will take a chance, but I think we should just sell up whilst his stock is high
