Yup, doesn't happen. Some players do okay. We've had a few go over to Italy and do decently, but not really 'tearing it up'.

None of them are going to better teams and performing.

McTominay surely is, chance of his first title of his career this season and very much a key man for them.

Villa are still in 3 competitions so plenty of games and minutes to come for him. Just need him to be at least decent and a club comes in for him in summer, doesn't have to be Villa.

They're paying well over £200 k per week towards his wage, so the fans clearly need to see some value for that outlay.

They’re paying him up to 85% of his wages depending on how their season goes

Fair enough. For some reason, i was under the impression that we were covering a significant part of his wages.

I would still take this early evaluations from AV fans with a pinch of salt. Their team is on the up and up, they're with one foot and a half in the quarter-finals of the CL, and now they can get some "big" names to join them. I can't blame them, either, this place could also use a bit of optimism.

Anyway, let's see how he does there. I'm afraid though that Rashford accepting a pay cut would be pivotal for both us and him to finally "move on".

If Villa weren’t going well their forum would be a different place .

The argument that ex United players will somehow do better outside the toxic United environment almost never translates into reality, but it's constantly used. Can't think of s single player across the past decade that's teared shit up after leaving us. Wouldn't even count Ronaldo because of the league he moved to.
I ageee with you for the most part, but surely Ronaldo must be counted! It’s not just his performances in La Liga (which more than justify his greatness,) but also his CL achievements.

Was referring to Ronaldo's return to United and within the past decade, not the original RM move.

The post says past decade, Ronaldo moved to Madrid in 2009.

How many assists has he got for them so far? It'd be interesting to see how he, Sancho and Antony stack up in terms of G+A stats at the end of the season. Don't think many would have had Antony down as the winner on this one but he probably might win it.

3 so far (plus a free kick that crashed off the bar for a tap in). It’s interesting to see how Emery has used both Rashford and Asensio. They’ve reinvigorated Villa’s season but he’s not overplaying them so far. He’s creating a lot of competition for places and keeping the team fresh.
