If Amorim's gone by the end of the season - or skating on very thin ice - i expect him to be back for a "fresh start" no matter what happens during his AV stint.

I don't think the fan base are entirely blameless on this. They spent half the time during Jose's reign complaining that he made the wingers defend. Ole came in told them to focus on attack and Rashford decided to exclusively do just that.

The fan base wanted a high pressing system, Mourinho made them defend deep as wingbacks.
Ole initially implemented a high press structure but later switched. He made Mc-Fred do all the work. He created this situation.
