He was fine. Fulham clattered him throughout the match, probably has about 15 bruises now. Thought he offered a constant threat in the first half, after Bruno went to the right he was pretty poor.

He needs to practice his fecking finishing, infuriating that he misses sitters like that.

He wasn't good today, needs to start stringing good performances together rather than being excellent one game to poor the next

United fans don't think like a top club for almost a decade now...

On the left wing PSG have Mbappe, Madrid has Vinicius, Bayern has Sane, and so on... and so on... Rashford will never hit those levels and United fans need to ask themselves if they're fine with it as one of the biggest clubs in the world.
It's insane. We used to make fun of Rawk members praising their letallec's, leiva's, spearings... Yet now Redcafe is basically RAWK from the past

4 goals and 2 assists in 14 PL games is just not closely good enough. I am patient with him. Waiting for him to shine season after season but when he will step up finally? Be consistent?
For this season he doesn't have any valid excuse. New manager, injury free (more or less), attacking football. I am starting to think that he is not that good as i think that he is (and i rate him a lot).

He's a bang average player. The twitter account Alternative Manchester Utd, has it spot on, "Walcott or Pele? Walcott or Pele?" Unfortunately, more often than not, its Walcott.

His performances in the league haven't been good enough, only contributed in 3 league games so far.

No there's a certain section of the fanbase that see through all the bullshit when it comes to players like Rashford, Fred, McTominay, Maguire,... The sooner we get rid of mediocrity the better the club will be
I can see from ETH POV. Our link with Gakpo and the way Garnacho shows what a good LW should be are telling.

Even on 1st half when we were creating chances, both our wingers were bad.

Edit: Not saying we should get rid of Rashford, though. Still need to see how he is going the whole season. I think he deserves that chance.

Who praises a player who strings together 5 mediocre performances and then has 1 decent/good where he scores and all hell breaks lose with the overreactions. I used to see this kind of thing on RAWK 10 years ago now i'm seeing it on Redcafe weekly. Some of you are either diehard player fanboys or trolls either way the club's not progressing with mediocrity.

edit: You know what makes a great player stand out ? CONSISTENCY
I find it very difficult to discuss this with someone that uses the term fanboys.

You seem to be arguing with previous posts/posters here. Take a breath, & relax. No one is praising Rashford for todays display.

He didn’t have a good game. Why would a United fan [I assume you are one] rush to this thread in this moment?

Don’t know what he had for breakfast but he needs to do far better than what we saw for long periods today.
Because I want him benched, a young player came on today and was far better.

Gif you provide a great service to this forum but I’m not having Rashford listed alongside the likes of Fred & Maguire, I’m sorry but it’s not a debate I’m having cause there isn’t one.

There’s no fan that doesn’t want us to rid the club of mediocrity so don’t even start that one.
Honestly not much difference between them for me.

In how many matches as forward player?
The majority as a left winger. I'm sorry but if people can't understand the value of a player like Rashford then they are fecking clueless. Thankfully, he's vital for Ten Hag.

What value was he today? Our midfielders had nothing to work with our wide, nothing. Until we made substitutions it was very poor.

Yeah, he played ok. Not amazing but worked hard and had some good moments. The spoilt twats in this thread (and many others) are beyond a fecking joke.
Just don't understand this. He played Ok? He was anonymous. Against Fulham?
I don't know why he gets a free pass. He's been bang average for over 3 years now. Wanting more than that doesn't make me a spoilt twat.
For me there are a lot of similarities between Marcus Rashford and the Emperors new clothes.

The idea of Rashford is much better than the reality. Ever since he broke through there's been a desperation to make him to be something he isn't and that's a top class forward.

You even see it with threads suggesting he could be our all time top scorer. Marcus Rashford just isn't that good it's simple. All sorts of excuses such as injury, managers, position get made for him but the truth is he's not the level of player is an important part of a winning team.
You are right. He is a disappointment in that light, but that gets covered over in endless debates. If we take him for what he is, I really like him and he is a great lad to have around the first team. He could have been special, if he kept that urge to improve that got him into the team in the first place. Somewhere he lost that, now he is just looking backwards to pull off plays he think made him. The problem is all that pressure and expectations doesn't do anyone any good. I for one am sick of seeing him get this protected high profile treatment, he should not be playing automatically etc, that stuff is killing his commitment and inclination to improve and prove himself within the team. It's like we live or die by the level he is at, that shit is bananas.

He's not really a left winger.

He never goes on the outside of his fullback for starters, which is a must if you want to be a genuine winger.

To me that's really affecting his game now. Far too one dimensional and its getting worse as he's getting older.

The biggest issue is that whenever he isn’t playing well, he always seems to try and do the most difficult, most selfish things to “play himself” back into it, rather than trying to keep it simple to build up his confidence… which often just makes his bad performances worse. I’ve no doubt we wouldn’t have scored our first goal if he’d been involved in any part of it today.

I thought he was poor. He tried to get past their RB multiple times and continuously lost the ball. I don't think he had one successful dribble all game. I was disappointed with his performance. Garnacho has been putting in great cameos on the left and Rashford is being given priority ahead of him. He needs to do better to stay ahead of him.

Rashford has definitely been a lot better this season, but I still think he's too inconsistent.

@GifLord taking flack but his general point is correct. At some stage as we are going through this redevelopment, we’re going to have to make the choice of replacing Rashford with a more consistent performer. If Garnacho carries on this way we may not even need to risk spending hundreds of millions to do it.

If we have a consistent performer then Rashford should be on the bench.

When Sancho was signed, people said Rashford will be on the bench, Sancho is worse than Rashford in every possible way.

When Antony was signed, people said Rashford will be on the bench as we have EtH who knows how to get best out of technical wizards (Sancho), again Sancho is our worst attacker except Ronaldo.

It's not that we haven't signed or tried to replace Rashford, we spent around 160 million on wingers in last 2 seasons and still Rashford is our best LW, even though he is inconsistent. None of the wingers we have are goal threat or makes the runs like Rashford.

Now we have Garnacho, he is looking like a gem. If he keeps Rashford out of starting 11 then even better for ManUtd as Garnacho and Martial should be playing at very high level to keep Rashford on the bench, which will be a huge boost for the club.

I hope we have enough competition for places, if Sancho regains his form, Garnacho continues to improve then we will have very good competition for places.

Sane was utter crap for City..

Ironically he completed our only successful dribble of the match. Apparently Rashford went 1/6 for successful dribbles while everyone else went 0/0 or 0/1.

Some weird posters on the Caf.

Rashford has been in better form. He was POTM against Villa in the cup the previous game. The last home game before that he was also POTM and won us the match with his header v West Ham.

In between he’s not been great (Villa away and yesterday) but the team selection in forward areas is all over the place currently so I can understand why.

Sancho ill, Antony injured, Ronaldo all over the place and Martial only just being available. It’s obviously difficult to develop any kind of chemistry when there’s no consistency in that area of the pitch. Just look at how our defence became pretty good when we settled with Shaw, Varane, Martinez and Dalot (and we started to look vulnerable again, and didn’t play as well, when that got broken up).

There’s been no consistency in our forwards all season yet Rashford still has the best numbers and has scored some big goals. United will look more balanced again when we settle on a front three after the WC and then we can judge him, and the others, more fairly.

He was fine, not exactly on fire but no player can be productive all the time. What's with all the hyperbole

Decent game without being spectacular, until he went down hard on his shoulder - felt he was a bit cautious with his movement after that. Hope he can grab a couple of WC goals and come back full of confidence.

9 goal contributions in 19 games is not bad. People wanting him 'gone' are a bit mad. He wasnt great and its ok to say that. But hes been important to ETH so far and also has goals in the big games v Liverpool and Arsenal. Hes had a decent first half of the season especially with having a few games up top rather than a consistent run in one position.

People need to realise that our forward line has not clicked yet, mainly because of the consistent changes from game to game.

Rashford is the only one who has scored goals or played well in the forward position this season.

What we need is to see 5/6 games where we have the same front 4, we need to build up the consistency in our players.

Rashford you absolute beauty!! Our boy is back!

That’s the best I’ve seen him ever play on the right wing!
