Brilliant today, his dribbling looked 10 times better today. Work rate as always was flawless.

However, you always knew he was missing that 1v1 with the keeper from Pogba's through ball. He just lacks that edge to make him a top striker.

I'm a big critic of him but today he showed he could be very handy on the wing. 9/10 today.

It’s such a kick in the teeth for someone like Lukaku to see that you can play upfront, control drilled passes and hold off 2/3 defenders at the same time without being borderline obese

That elastico on the run though....

He was brilliant! He is showing plenty of confidence to go along with his motor, which wasn't always the case. If he manages to stay calm in 1v1 and improves his finishing, he can become one of the best players in the league/world in a few years.

That's signature Rashford, used to love doing the elastico on defenders at U18 level.

Top attitude, and he's clearly taking this chance to prove he's up to been our first choice CF, he has so much more to offer than Lukaku, he just needs to work on his finishing, pundits can point to Lukaku's price tag all they want but what's Rashford worth?

It came to the point where I was wanting him to stop closing down so much for fear of him running himself into the ground, which he maybe did, if he's out for the next game then over to Lukaku to top what he did today.

Ole said exactly this, said might try slowing him down a bit - meaning just making sure he's running smarter.

He's a modern no.9.his pressing, off the ball movement, linking up play are top quality.
Our midfielders should release the ball earlier when he makes runs, he strayed off-side because of that.

He's still young, I know he will improve his decision making and finishing.

I'm seeing this alot round here since Jose's gone and its getting silly.Like, why would you want to one up your own clubs fanbase and laugh in their faces because their opinion differentiated from yours ?
Its dumb and childish.Move on.

It’s the whole point of a discussion forum. There's no laughing, smiley faces or white text etc. Get a grip man.

Just because someone else supports the same club as me, doesn’t mean anything to me. A player proving some of the clubs' fans wrong is absoubtly fair game.

Why do we have to be nasty about our own players to praise another one? Seriously, there's no need.

Amazing play for our first goal. The elastico  I'm not writing off Lukaku yet, but Rashford is clearly above him in terms of skill and agility.

Management is when you let class strikers do what they are good at instead of defending.

The run for the first goal, the way he danced past 2 defenders was absolute top drawer, had that been Messi it would be getting a lot more coverage!

He looked like the “England” Rashford in the first half.

Actually looked in command of the call which usually he looks a bit gangly at times. If we can get that regularly he’s going to be a hell of a player.

Love that he’s started playing with real aggression too, he’s a handful to play against both offensively and defensively pressing.

The confidence is back with Rashford.

Under Jose he tried too hard and things wouldn’t come off for him. I think whatever Ole has said to him has worked, because he’s been tremendous lately.

He’s starting to look like becoming the player he threatened to be in his first season. He had looked lost for a while, but the last 6 or so weeks he’s been getting better and better. Always said that I’d rather have the future Rashford at the time we got Lukaku, but acknowledged we needed something to bridge the there and then. The future Rashford is now looking closer and closer, and happy to see him take the next step over the next year or so.

On the whole, it looks like we are building something here with this team. We need a few additions, but looks of late that we may finally have a visible plan for progression over the next year. If the medicine we have to take to finally find our way post-Fergie is Liverpool winning the league, then so be it.

Both Zlatan and Lukaku for me were wasteful purchases when we needed to focus on the development of Rashford and Martial. The two kids had both shown they could delivery. What we needed was an older head to complement them and not to replace either.

He’s looking like he’s putting together 90 minutes of class now which is frightening from a defenders perspective.

That's Jose for you, can only see as far as his hand.

Which older player would have complemented them better than Zlatan then?

Fair enough, a little uncalled for the extra dig at Lukaku there. Having said that, I was gladly pointing out the benefits that Rashford offers us over our usual striker.

He was bashed and underrated here a lot, happy he's proving many wrong.
People forget the europa semi-final vs celta vigo when ibra got injured and Marcus took over and broke the deadlock with sublime skill.

Zlatan was a great purchase and I'm sure Rash learned a lot training with him. Lukaku on the other hand though.

Its not his 8/9/10 out of 10 games that's the problem for me, its when he's below his best and just seems to fall off a cliff.
We need more more consistency when he's not ripping it up like a God. If that makes sense.
Like a budget Pogba problem we have.

He really impressed me today, he was fast, strong and confident. I feel he just needs a manager who believes in him and Ole certainly provides that. Its amazing what a difference a a good manager makes to young players.

He’s been reminding me of a young Ronaldo recently, with his striking technique and the kind of footwork he showed in setting up our first goal today.

Watching a born and bread mancunian youth product produce performances like this for us, with the number 10 shirt on his back, is such a pleasure.

I see such a bright future for this kid. He really seems to have all the tools, as well as the proper temperament and dedication levels, to make it at the highest levels.

It’s a testament to both his own hard work, as well as growing up with that United being engrained.

Probably the most impressed I've been by him yet. That performance vs Bournemouth was nothing short of phenomenal. I didn't think he could put it all together so quickly but he has under Ole, which is a dream come true really. Hopefully he can keep this sort of form going, and if he even adds a few more strings to his game and can put consistency to it he will be world class or near it.

Funny how I criticized his heavy touch a couple of months ago.

Been really critical, but ended up being confidence issue for him instead of a suspect technical deficiencies. I'm glad he turned it around so quickly. What a player!

Can someone make a gif of the skill in his assist ?

Top drawer assist and a neat finish you cant ask anything more from your striker! Hopefully he keeps running with it and kicks on from here.

Well, being a united fan, you should know that young attackers especially strikers will be inconsistent. It is up to him to work it out while he is growing as a player. If he can't, we know he might not make it at highest level.

But, right now when he has been doing good in a few games in a row and still being young, talking about expecting consistency is pretty ridiculous.

Some posters are fecking lost causes tbh  Dancing has feck all to do with being or not being focused on football.

Is not loving the random dance moves considered a sigh-worthy opinion now?
It's linking it with being focused or not on football that is nuts. How can something so harmless annoy some fans ?

Went sideways under Mourinho. Now he could be well on to taking the centre stage and growing hyperbolically under Ole.
