Don't start that now, because it's simply not true and why the Martial thread is blowing up every day. Rashford simply has played significantly more without being a more impactful player than Martial, which is why there's a lot of Martial vs Rashford talk on the caf.
He had a couple of brilliant moments in the match, but overall I was a bit disappointed in him. Just didn't seem to get involved all that much. He should have been looking to destroy that rightback all match.
That's the main issue isn't it, I saw this floating around before the game
I wonder if it's still gonna hold true for our next match, that match to me is the ultimate litmus test for whether Jose really has it in for martial (it's crazy but I'm still holding out hope of Jose surprising us and showing a method to his madness)
Reasons for playing martial in the Liverpool game:
1.) The "rotation" Jose is supposedly employing currently
2.) Being fresh after the international break compared to rashford
3.) Being in a better form than rashford (yes even after today, martial is in a better form)
Reasons for starting rashford;
1.) Played well today.. This doesn't hold much water as martial has been dropped regardless of how he performed
2.) Rashford's defensive contributuons
3.) Jose simply prefers him over martial
Interesting to see how it all plays out in two weeks time
Going by those reasons I think he will start Martial, unless Rashford puts in a monster performance for England.

I really want to see Rashford on the right and Martial on the left. Let's have some balls, and give the two of them a try. Mata or Mikhi simply don't deserve at the moment to be automatic starters on the right when the two youngsters are being so productive with the time given.
I echo others thoughts on him playing in the #10 role as a SS. I think he could make that position his own and having him, Lukaku, Martial and one of Mata/Mkhi would be nice to see for once. He could easily rotate out wide with Martial coming inside. I've missed seeing him and Martial linkup together as the signs in 15/16 were promising.

All of the above stats are from only PL and UCL. Obviously if we include the Carling cup, then Rashford's stats will look even more good.
Holds up well in this list particularly given the fact that the general opinion here is that he's a level below all of those other talents.

I get the feeling Jose is somewhat required to start Rashford when Pogba or Lingard aren't starting due to the grownups in the first XI record. For instance, if we had someone else starting in any other role, I'm sure Martial would start most games over Rashford.
