The greatest trick Mourinho has pulled here is to convince United fans that Rashford is anything less than a special footballer.

Its nice to see him actually putting some effort in again.

Makes a change from watching him chunder into dead ends or firing aimless balls into the first defender.

Amazing what a few weeks away from Mourinho has some for him - looks like the fearless wonder kid pre-Jose.

More proof that a loan move would be stupid.

Its actually more proof that he should be on loan - he clearly has talent that’s being subdued by Mourinho; it’d benefit both the player and the club long term for him to go and play like this every week elsewhere until Buzz Killington fecks off.

If you can't see the difference in confidence when he's playing for United and England, then you're clearly watching a wrong sport. Bet Southgate won't criticise him after a bad performance too.
Southgate > Mourinho is it? I never claimed Rashford isn’t a great talent but naturally not all of his performances are going to be special. He’s shown good and bad things this season like most young players his age. Blaming Mourinho for the bad performances is just a lazy accusation.

He's comfortably the best player on the pitch.

Best he's looked in months. Probably the best he's looked in well over a year actually.

Yup. This apparently is a player with terrible technique.

When has a player of Rashfords profile ever gone out on loan? Someone who has started 67 matches in the last two years at 18-20 years old for a top European team, and who is now going to the World Cup!

Just such a ridiculous idea, and something that is never going to happen.

No it's really, really not. That press conference after WBA was one of the most cringeworthy Manchester United press conference I've seen. Imagine throwing your two best young players under the bus after one bad performance.

Christ, he's been two levels above everyone else on the pitch so far.

Up there with the best half of football I’ve seen from him. Promising

If you’re going to moan atleast get the game right, it was Brighton away.

Also, this is the most bothered Rashford has looked in months. He’s actually moving into spaces and not just getting the ball and flicking/losing it with every touch. He’s a quality talent but it’s up to him, along with jose, to sort it out and get him playing like this more often.

Costa Rica look hopeless and this is a friendly. It was a great strike but he also had plenty of time to line it up and we know he’s capable so that’s nothing new.

The only difference is he’s playing with a bit more confidence at the moment.

Alexander Arnold looks good as well. Wish we had a young right back like that in our academy... hopefully Dalot will be a hit.

Except it obviously wasn't because of one bad performance. You also don't gain confidence from running to dead ends 10 times a game and shooting on sight. He has to mature and fast, not much that Mourinho can do with that.

He needs to have a good game when his dribbling let's him down.
He still plays with his head down, luckily Vardy wasn't in for an easy pass through in goal for Markus to ignore!

Rashford is the best player on the pitch!! He demands the ball and he's a constant threat. He is on his way to becoming a world class player for sure!!

Alright it was Brighton away, does that somehow change my point?

Double standards, rules arent the same for everyone. "Why you dont ask me why Matic and Lukaku always play" and "Now you see why Matic and Lukaku always start" or whatever it was, must be one of biggest pile of horse shit.

Told a scouser at work today that Rashford would be England's best player at the world cup.

And to think he didn't believe me!

Absolutely feeling himself that half. Playing with that swagger he did in his first season

Laird and O’Connor have that level of potential - possibly won’t see it now Dalot has arrived, although I also think DD has a similar skillet to Willian, so could become a valid right winger.

Yup. This apparently is a player with terrible technique.

His actual technique is very good, but it’s sabotaged by his moronic attempts to do everything at full speed; he needs to learn to decelerate and dribble with the ball closer to his feet - he’s got the perfect role model in that regard training with him every day in Martial.

Really impressed with him so far. As I said in the match thread, we must do something to our players for them to look so low on confidence whilst on United duty.
Today he reminded me of the Rash of his first season. Incredible what confidence can do.

He's a young player and bound to have ups and downs in form. He's probably feeling fresh from a few days off.

Mourinho ruining him

He loves playing for England and it shows. He’s still trying to play his way into this team though. The problems started at United when he seemed to think he was the new Ronaldo or something and started taking ridiculous free kicks and trying to dribble everyone a all the time.
