His crossing is good. He had a good game.

If Rooney had the ran the ball out of play twice and passed it out of play twice, a video would have been made of it
So you are comparing the play of an 18 year old that is just starting out his career and know doubt will have some up and downs to a player that has been atrocious for three years and career that is basically over? Have a fecking word with yourself you rooney lover.

I'm convinced that Rashers slept with Scholesy's girl. Talk about having a vendetta. This is Johnnowhite levels of pent up rage.

1 of the times he ran it out was when he got to a ball which he had no right to get to after a corner and brought the ball 30 yards up the pitch with no support and completely took the pressure off and was squeezed out by 2 players the other was where he knocked it past a defender in order to pull it back but ran out of space. Your need to constantly try to highlight and pick apart every mistake or attempt that doesn't come off for an 18 year old in order to try to make your opinions look valid is tedious and a bit bizarre.

Already giving his 120% at his age. Can't demand perfect consistency for now but he's actually providing a solid portion of it.

He's not a winger anyway but he's definitely not a left winger. Asking a lad who's all about pace to play on his wrong side is setting him up to fail. It's a bit like playing Giggs on the right or Kanchelskis on the left.

If he is to be played out wide give him the right wing spot. That way he can go at his fullback on the outside and get his crosses in. As others have said he can certainly whip the ball in as well. Being on the left completely removes his ability to do that.

Comparing a talented 18 year old manc with the future ahead of him against a washed up overweight, overpaid scouser who's time here is rapidly fading with every insipid performance.

Mixed bag on the left but did well on the right, put in a couple of great balls, especially that one with the outside of the foot.

Poor game today, not sure about him wide. He did put a couple of good balls in but needs to tighten up his game, too many loose passes and poor control. Martial scoring is good, let's hope he gets back in the team.

I do kind of get what @Scholesy says about him and his technique when he dribbles. He's one of those straight line runners type of players when he runs with the ball, doesn't really know when to slow down, just always tends to run straight at defenders then go slightly to the side and sprint past them. Very pace reliant. He has big potential of course, but I like him more on the right as he looks like he'll slow it down more but can also go wide and whip the ball in really well. Anyway, Martial is on another level to him potential wise and current ability wise.

Bit of a kick and rush merchant purely when it comes to dribbling is what you are getting at. Luckily he has other good attributes that should see him play as a striker.

If only he had Ousmane Dembele's dribbling. But it'll come with time I reckon.

He isn't a good dribbler at the moment, and I don't get why José's playing him on the left when he looks most dangerous on the right with them crosses, but now that Martial's back hopefully he'll be our starter there now, with Rashford occupying the Lingard role on the right.

Also, that little chip to Pogba for those few chances in the second half was brilliant.

He did very well when he switched to the right. His decision making seems to be a lot better there. It also suits his "playstyle" as a winger a lot more. Even as a right footed player and natural striker it isn´t his first instinct to go inside and have a pop at goal. He basically always goes to the byline to bring in a cross or make a cut back to the centre. So it´s a lot better if he plays on the right side, because his delivery with his right foot is actually really good and should have resulted in a few goals later in the game.

With Martial getting back to form, Rahford should move to the right wing. He can definitely cross., and more effective than Martial on the right wing.

Young player in having a poor game shocker. Even more shocking considering he just played 90 minutes on Thursday.

Still managed a lovely ball to Pogba even in the dying minutes of the game.
He is still so young, will have good and bad games, will be tired at times, but the quality is so obviously there.

Iheanacho came on today and looked completely useless, that's all part of a young player's development.

I'm not sure if this talk of Martial being back to form isn't a little premature. Took his goal very well, but I'd like to see more before saying he's back in form.

I thought he was very poor on the left wing today, nothing really came off for him. Improved a lot when he was moved to the right. I think we should start Martial left and Rashford right.

And why is that a bad thing? Both Ronaldo and Nani improved their game, consistancy and numbers by kicking and running. Hell, Giggs said that when he was young football was easy because he could kick and run past defenders for fun. If you are that much faster, which Rashford seems to be, why not just do it. It's effective and if it works, why not. Of course he needs to adapt his game as well being able to cut in and feint dribbles, crosses and shots, but that will come in time.

There seems to be some consensus amongst the intellectuals on here that physical attributes mean nothing compared to technical abilities. Either of those is untrue; you need both, and lacking either can disrupt your game.

Well he's been lively since he came back after his "contusion", not concussion(like Mou love insisting ).

He was looking already dangerous and sharp midweek with people hoping Mou to play him to regain his form completely. And today he was sharp too, so definitely signs are there for a permanent return to form.

He's not a winger. That said, he was poor. Sloppy throughout with the ball. Should be given a rest IMO.

Sorry, but are you sure you used the correct term here? I thought Rashford has a solid record in big games so far, maybe the only blip are those EL games against Pool last year.

Yes my bad. What I meant to say or find the correct term is that he's kicking the ball and running past with less (not little) control. Others have commented on it already; it's great when it's working but he must vary it.

as I said couple of pages ago, he's just average dribbler for a winger and you need that to constantly go past players,he's no Martial people and even he has problems to maintain his level of that skill. Mourinho knows that I am sure of that, he's not the best option there but one of the best we currently have, Rashers is a goal threat and fecking rapid so when the defence is open he is very useful to make runs into open space waiting for the ball, recieving the ball deeper in the field won't do any good for him..

What I liked from him today that he played with his head up and even put in some great crosses, wasn't his best game but he had moments when he justified his place maybe for another game, by some he justified he's not just rapid fecker, he uses brain and has more to his game than people think. Let's try Martial - Rashford next game

Well, his dribbling is more suit to being the front man imo.

But then again you are playing potentially a very good CF in a wide wing forward. You are bound to see a bit of his weakness more because his skill set does not suit too much there.

Better than being benched though because jose can't stop starting or can't sub zlatan in the game.

Sick to death of seeing him stuck on the damn wing. Same with Martial

Only thing he's got going for him playing on the wing is the speed. He's starting to remind me a bit of Etoo and Mourinhos use of him in Inter. Mourinho don't mind using center forwards on the wing if they're speedy and want to work hard. I'm sorry to say it but Rashford is shit on the wing. I hope we can start playing with two forwards or at least have Zlatan in the hole behind Rashford.

Just rewatching some of his games this season, is it wrong that I don't think he is good enough. Look at this vs Leicester, every touch he loses the ball or hits a misplaced pass, the most over rated player by the fans

I doubt today's strikers know how to play in a two but can you imagine Rashford and Martial up front? It might be inconsistent but what a nightmare it would be for the centre backs.

He's not a wide man for me, his attributes are suited to a central position.

He does very good things and very bad. I think the ability to do those very good things should not be underestimated, but he can still go either way as a player. There is a big chance he can iron out the bad things and keep the good though. He certainly scores, and that is a big deal.
