Him being played as a full back has nothing to do with not paying attention to the ball during a corner.

He was dreadful and that sliced clearance at the end was incredibly bad.

He shouldn't be getting played at left back.

Yeah he was poor as LB but it wasn't surprising he was sent on. His poor clearance could have cost us considering they were very dangerous from set pieces.

Saying that his passing is good, at the end he picked up few nice passes when pressed. His composure was impressive. When he plays as CB, it would be good to see him carrying the ball forward from deep. It will push our midfielders bit higher on the pitch.

I have always maintained that he is not good enough. Except for that spell last season where he seemed a really good player. However i am still skeptical whether that period was his true ability or him playing above his level. Because he seems like the old Rojo with poor decision making, hoofing the ball upfield without trying to pick somebody out, and making rash challenges and sliced clearances.

There was one point where it looked for all the world that he was going for one of his trademark hoofs, and I was about to lose my shit... but then he almost did a hoof-fake and played a nice pass inside.

I think I was talking about the same play, it looked like he lost the ball but then he made a nice pass.

Was harsh on Shaw him not being brought on. Especially when we all know how bad Rojo is at fullback. Play Rojo at CB or don't play him.

Wonder if Rojo will manage to get himself Christmas off again this year?

He's managed it a couple of times already in the last few years...he's only a booking away from it this time round, I'd expect no booking tonight, and then a scything challenge against Leicester to earn himself Boxing Day off...

Tbh, I've got this growing feeling he might get sent off tonight if he's playing! Don't know why, just that maybe his timing still isn't quite there considering the amount of time he's been out because of his injury. That & the fact that unpredictable Mike Deane is the referee.

Rojo has proven himself rash at times so wouldn’t surprise anyone if he was red carded at some point.

Bristol 2:1 Man Utd
At fault for both goals tonight. Ball watched twice as they just ran passed him and scored.

Pathetic performance tonight, braindead.

Bar his performance in Basel, every time he's played this season he's been a complete shambles. You'd get more anticipation from a 3 year old.

Agreed. He has been pretty awful since he's returned. Boots the ball long way too often, gets beaten in the air, and is way to rash in challenges. Would have much rather seen Tuanzebe get game time in a game like today.

Not only his defending is poor, all he does with the ball is hoof it to the other side.
Out of five CBs, I'm afraid he is the last one in pecking order.

Back to his normal level after a run of half decent performances last year. He's a liability.

Every time he hoofs the ball, one random football school from around the world gets shut down.

Serious question, can he win a header?

He even hoofs the ball when hes not under pressure. And those hoofs arent even in the vicinity of the attackers. Its madness.

Just watching the replay of the 2nd goal and what is he even doing, watches the boy run past him. Can’t decide who should be first out the door, he or Jones.

Was my favourite defender at the club pre-injury, his aggression and ability to win the ball back high up the pitch was great to watch. He's looked very poor since his injury though. Zlatan has too, maybe this is an injury player's just don't ever really recover properly from? He's basically got fake knee ligaments, surely that is affecting his ability.

Looked good in his return, and then gave away that pen at Watford.

He's been a complete liability since that incident in every single game.

Should get some games in the reserves to get back match fit. He isn't ready to start for us. His brain isn't quite thinking at the speed that is required.

How the hell can he just f***ing stand there for the second goal against Bristol? He just fkin gave it up, insane.

He's been absolute garbage since he's come back into the team and a complete liability. He's got heart but no brain. No wonder Mourinho allegedly wants another centre back.

Hope we don't get to see him and Lindelof play together in central defense anytime soon.

It's almost as if an ACL injury takes time to recover from. He needs minutes to return to full mach sharpness.

That's no excuse for some of his poor decision making and poor anticipation. He actually looked very good in his first two games back and has progressively got worse since. The penalty giveaway against Watford should've warranted a straight red card. He almost scored an own goal against Bournemouth and he's been losing more aerial battles than winning them.

Never been sold on him. Always has a mistake in him while defending & cannot head the ball to save his life. His passing is piss poor too. Either passes it to the opposition players or incessantly hoofs it forward. A very mediocre defender and hugely overrated on the ball.

Didn't see the match, just the highlights, but it looked like both goals were mostly his fault. Not tracking runners at all.

First one yes, although it was a 1 in 100 strike.

Second one no, that was on McTominay. It was his runner.

Both he should have been following.

in the 2nd goal what else is he there for? what is he doing? if a player goes running passed you and you're the last man you have to track the runner.

The fact is he switched off twice and completely ignored a run, that sort of error cannot happen. and no unless he injured his brain at the same time then the ACL is no excuse.

Of course he does. But hes also competing for a spot in the first team and getting chances and we're relying on him to do a job when he does that. So far he's been at the same level as Lindelof when he first arrived, an accident waiting to happen. Perhaps he should be playing with the u23s until he gets up to speed and looks even half the player he was last season and then get another chance in the first team.

For the second goal, Bristol's player literally ran infront of Rojo and Rojo was standing his ground like a statue
