Rojo's only positive aspect is frustrating opponents, getting extra physical etc. With VAR he's pretty much one of the worst defenders of top teams, cause he's only left with his poor positioning, decision making and he gets carded into oblivion.

Watch the whole sequence of MBappe run, then Rojo did try that. There was another initial contact/attempt to stop Mbappe about a yard outside the box. Mbappe is too fast and strong. Unless you meant a wild challenge with sole intention to kick Mbappe leg, then it's another matter especially with VAR. It may result as a sent off.

Rojo as bad as he was, Argentina defense without him was proven worse in both occasion when he got dropped. Both mistake leading goal by Rojo could have been prevented at earlier time (more ideal to foul further up the pitch) in the sequence of play. Other players failed their job too. And these players continued to fail leading to Argentine eventual demise.

the only thing he has over our other defenders is hes Left footed brings a bit more balance, but lets be honest he aint anywhere near good enough if we want to get back to the top. ad even play blind at CB before him least he actually can pass the ball and organise at the back.

With 1 good game (well 1 great finish that made people think he had a good game) at the world cup, is Rojo's price at an all time high? Would now not be the best time to let him go?
