Classic United vs Wigan game.

16 wins out of 17 games now vs the Latics!

Thought Evra showed the value of players running at defenders with the ball. Would like to see the possibility of that type of thing from our cm

Good win for Moyes and the lads. Very professional performance and we controlled the tempo and possession for most of the match. Good to see us defend very solidly today and hopefully Vidic and Rio stay fit for the year.

Loved how Moyes went pep guardiola at the end and took off all strikers and played with midfielders only! I really like this Adnan Januzaj kid because you can tell he oozes technical ability and class. Given the proper development I think we have a really good player on our hands. He is coming through at the right time too with Rooney on his way out the door either this summer or the next.

To be fair is the community shield trophy any more valid as a trophy than the Emirates cup?

Well seeing as you either have to win the PL or FA Cup to play in the Community Shield I'm gonna go with yes, yes it is.

A win, clean sheet, couple of goals for RVP, cameos for Januzaj and Kagawa, decent debut for Zaha and excellent attacking performance from Evra.

Very pleasing game.

Love RvP :D

"I don't care about who are favourites. I'm not being funny but we are the champions. I believe in this team"

United didn't win the league or the fa cup in 2010 yet were in the following seasons one! :smirk:

The reason you are there is on merit but whenever we have been in it people on here have always said it was just a glorified friendly!

Great stuff :D First trophy for Moyes, we really couldn't have started the season in a better way. I'm really looking forward to our new playing style under Moyes, even though the differences today were not that visible.

The players seem more hard-working and the pressing high up the field is very nice to see. It's normal that we're not doing it throughout the whole match yet, as it's quite new for the players and they clearly need to adjust to it. Hernandez would welcome such tactics for sure with his constant running and pressing.

Now if we get one or two midfielders we'd be able to challenge on all fronts with a chance to win everything, no matter how unlikely it may seem to some people. Nobody thought that Bayern would do it last season but they did. That's how much of a difference Sammer and especially Martinez made to their team.

Bring on Swansea! :D
