I actually agree with Ole's decision with this lineup.

Fred, Mata and Matic should be fresh and good enough to swat this team down. Mata is useful against very shit championship level teams (he's our best player in EFL cup) and we know his good chemistry with Bruno. VDB is still a dilemma, but Ole should sub him in for either one of Mata or Matic later on. Really need to start using him and getting to know where he fits best in this system, the sooner the better.

McT, VDB and James on the bench after their international duties make sense. We don't really have better choices for CF and LW so Martial and Rash have to play. Cavani for sure will take the last 20-40 minutes 2nd half.

I don't know why, but I really dislike these yo-yo teams that come up for one season, and then piss off back down the year afterwards, only to come back up again. West Brom, Fulham, Norwich, Watford, those teams. They're like cats that can't decide whether they want to stay in or go outside, so they hover about in the doorway and flit between, but never really commit either way. Fecking annoying.

They really weren't. They held their own for a number of years, their problem was buying some naff players, although Solanke actually did well today and dropping off of form after good starts. It caught up with them eventually. Maybe needed to hear another voice as well.

I know they weren't a yo-yo team, but if they come back up and then go back down again, then they will be one.

I like Bournemouth anyway. The intentions are always right and they try to win every game. I thought they were unlucky to go down, tbh. I imagine if they come back up, providing they reinvest, they'll be good to stay up.
