When Mata leaves or retires next year and VdB hasn’t played enough games people will complain that he looks off pace or not acclimatised to the Prem, when In reality these are the types of games he should be starting.
It’s clear VdB isn’t in his short or long term goals as a fundamental player. Sad.

They really weren't. They held their own for a number of years, their problem was buying some naff players, although Solanke actually did well today and dropping off of form after good starts. At MUFC, nobody plans for anything. We react to things as they happen and sometimes we don't even bother doing that.
The plan is to bench him until he gets fed up and seeks a move away from us at the end of the season, possibly back to Ajax at a loss, and then Ole can reinvest that money into a player he actually wants.
