Ralph was on and said they had a real problem. JWP had to step in to RB last time.
They still will play the same way regardless who they have out. He doesn’t care who the oppo is, he plays his style dogmatically

We played SU' reserves and lost, played Arsenal without their best players and looked shit also.

    1-1 tonight.

Cant wait to watch JWP's annual stunning free kick against us.

I’m not confident, we’re in poor form. I hope we can dig ourselves out of this rut sooner rather than later before we find ourselves back in a top four scrap.

Martial on the bench, I’ll probably watch this one then.

It's one player off our best possible side. No excuses.

Going with our big six team here is just a ridiculous call. Desperately hope it works as if McFred dominates the midfield, we’ll win the game. However, continuing to treat VdB like this and putting him on the bench against a side who he played well against last time out is just a joke. Wasn’t he a rotation option with Pogba and Bruno? Can’t be a bad trainer too as the club keeps showing how wonderful he is in training. If I were him, I’d leave.

Oh great more containment tactics towards the mighty Southampton, I really do have my reservations over ole's mentality for club that is suppose to be about attacking football

    Beek has been shit.

Pogba on the bench is strange given his form. Bruno & Rashford both need a big performance. VdB might as well just stay in the hotel.

Pogba paying for his brothers blunt ultimatum then.

Not sure if both McT and Fred are needed here, one plus Donny or Pogba should be good enough. He doesn't want to lose, that's for sure.

Scrappy 2-1 or 1-1. They'll score from a set piece.

Good lineup. Greenwood deserves to be in ahead of Martial and it gets Rashford on the left. Pogba is quality of course but this is better for balance (normally is Martial on the left, but as he's woefully out of form, Greenwood in is good). Southampton is always tough so I like the lineup.

    Pogba on the bench
Here are both squads in full:
United XI: De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw; McTominay, Fred; Greenwood, Fernandes, Rashford; Cavani.
Subs: Henderson, Telles, Bailly, Williams, Matic, Pogba, Van de Beek, James, Martial.
Southampton XI: McCarthy; Ramsay, Bednarek, Stephens, Bertrand; Jankewitz, Ward-Prowse, Armstrong; Djenpo, Adams, Ings.
Subs: Forster, Lewis, Tchaptchet, Ferry, Finnigan, Chauke, Watts, Redmond, Nlundulu.

To all those moaning about Pogba, he had a few good games in a row against Burnley and Liverpool, he was pretty poor against Sheffield Utd and Arsenal. Dropping him might give him the kick he needs. I think dropping Martial was a must and I fear Rashford isn’t in form. Maybe tonight is the night we see Rashford and Greenwood come into the form we need to kick on.

Ole just refuses to try anything different, reshuffling the same players all of the time while some barely kick a ball.

Pogba will come on if needed in the second half when they are knackered. Bruno needs a big performance tonight with Scott and Fred doing the legwork behind him.

A surprise to make just 1 change to starting team and then that change is Greenwood for Pogba.

8 of tonights Southampton 11 started in the 2-2 draw in Old Trafford last season.
