Manchester United vs Shakhtar Donetsk

Apparently the North Stand booed.

Booing on the game is just wrong in my opinion, but I do understand their frustration.
Call for heads when the game is done, support the players when they are there.

Perhaps I'm a tad too harsh on him but he really should be trying to shoot it. His entire gameplan screams of "playing it safe".

I don't know if it's 'playing safe' or 'playing for your team mates' to be fair. I think we bought him for such passes, he's doing them more often I'd say when he's finally at #10 but something's still missing there.

I don't know what some of you are moaning at. We have been quite equal in terms of goalscoring chances and play in general. A few little mistakes from individuals has caused some cause of concern but nothing serious. If we draw this (and we still could win quite easily) we will have remained unbeaten and topped the group. It is a tricky group when you look at it too.

Are we already at the point where we should be happy to be holding up against the likes of Shaktar Donetsk at home? We had a good spell in the end, but they've been on top for large parts of the half. Of course it's not as bad as some here are making it out to be, but it's not good either. I don't really think it's a tricky group either. Leverkusen has been quite shit when we played them (we were good too of course) and so far Real Sociedad's only point is a draw against us.

It is sad when the truly shit players we have (Buttner and Young) can't even surprise with a decent game here and there. You expect a certain average if not worse performance from them and they rarely fail to deliver.

Agreed, but he's not plunged to the depths Young has.

<insert diving joke here>

You mean a diving cnut??

I know.

I can only agree with a statement like this, it's frustrating because this teams is crying for players who aren't scared to try things.

Kagawa just needs to use a game like this with nothing massive on the cards to let loose and free himself to play the game properly. He's getting tons of chances and he's been allowed to drift inside enough too. Just not been good enough.

I'm worried for Moyes. He doesn't look as though he could inspire a gnat's erection let alone a football team.

Poor stuff, far worse than the last 2 games. But not arsed too much about the result (the players seem the same...). The way things are going lately they'd get Juventus or the like if they won the group.
Bigger worry is the form going into Stoke. Many players here would not start that, but even players like Rafael are playing like shit.
Still feels like there will no major improvement until Carrick comes back.

Booing at a draw which is enough to see us through as group winners is nothing short of a total fecking disgrace.

The performance was poor in the first half but some people need their heads wobbled.

The jumble sale channel I'm streaming has that well-known United fanatic David Bloody Platt as a pundit. Jesus H. Wept...

Keane is right, our experienced players are playing like children making their debuts. 40 year old giggs playing like it's his debut. Experience means feck all when your so far past it.

I really don't think they are booing the result to be fair.

We will remain unbeaten in a tricky group. What more do you want? Do you think Shakhtar are mugs? They have some decent players and on form can beat anyone home or away. We have at least four first team players out injured. We are holding our own and still very much in the game. It hasn't come to nothing apart from your own perceived satisfaction.

Did Adrian chiles seriously just call David Moyes sir Alex ferguson?? what a muppet.

There is no excuse, he's playing a lot behind the striker and his performances haven't been that good so far. Hopefully he shuts me up for good but I'm really disappointed by him.

Moyes has surely used up his quota of 'Where's the passion lads?' half-time teamtalks. Not sure what else he can do now...

From UEFA's website:

There is a break in play.
The referee has taken the players off and the ground staff are clearing the lines. Play is expected to resume in 20 minutes.
Snowfall apparently.

May aswell put Young on the right or bring someone else on. Rafael has struggled with nobody to pass to when he attacks.

I'm worried for Moyes. He doesn't look as though he could inspire a gnat's erection let alone a football team.

His biggest weakness has been the lack of inspiration when we are down. We've not responded positively to defeats and haven't responded well to going a goal down.

If we don't win tonight I do worry that he simply doesn't have the dressing room support and is failing to inspire the team.

On whoscored, they have Rio at 6.7, with Rooney and Januzaj at 6.2. Phil Jones is top with 7.3. Are they watching a different game?
Jones has been awful IMO, not tackling, not opening himself up to receive a pass, doesn't even look to pass it forward. Just gives it right back to Evans or rio and it looks like he's telling them to just lump it forward.

 Go on holiday until the next transfer window and then request the board for more cash?

Why do they always pick pundits who soddin' hate us for United games? Why oh why etc.

*moans forever*

We should be winning this game. Young should have taken one of those chances.

Shaktar have been the better side and we have not been good enough but they have lacked any cutting edge and certainly look vulnerable when we attack.
