Manchester United vs Liverpool (Sun 4th August, 00:30 UK time)

Is it just me or we seem to be better with press and counter-press, despite not having enough of new, quality players? It's been several games now, and hardly accidental?

Come on Sancho .... Another good chance goes begging.

Did you forget about Zirkzee? He will play there.
+1 between injuries, cup games, and substitutions I can see Zirkzee playing A LOT of minutes. And if he does well, he may even move Hojlund to #2 choice. Zirkzee is not some older striker that was brought-in as Hojlund's backup. We have two young, capable strikers, and it's up to Zirkzee if he overtakes Hojlund or becomes our #2 striker that still plays ton of minutes

This is where we're seeing Collyer's limitations. He said it himself, it's in possession. I haven't watched him at youth level, but he seems quite awkward with the ball unless he's deep with loads of space.
It seems to me that it's more Rashford smashing the ball into people's legs. His dribbling has been good but his timing and passing have been off so far.

First time I've mentioned him. That cross was atrocious and sums him up going forward.
It wasn't great.... but feck me are you guys tedious. Anyway it's the match day thread, continue.

Our link play in attack is poor. We still have no idea how to break down a compact defense.
Don't know what game you are watching but we have created so many good chances already that we should have easily scored 2 goals if not for the finishing.

Scared to to believe what I am seeing, or jinx him, but Rashford looks not bad at all?

Think United have been really good, Casemiro shameful for the goal but very good otherwise.

AWB nowhere near as bad as is being made out

Won the ball and then lost it with some casual/poor flick clearance thing for the goal conceded. Played a first time cross over everyone's head when we had 4 players in central positions ready to take the ball at feet in and around the penalty box. Fired a first time pass to Amad's feet when he had a player pressing him, which if intercepted would have had us going backwards on a counter attack as Evans had pushed forward a little.

It's the many little things which don't tie our game together and interrupts any semblance of continuity.

He's not usually this bad but this is a bad half from him so far. He's still using his athletic strengths but that's besides the point.
