I think it's important to have A Mass to make sure other players don't get injured.
If we have to sell the likes of AWB to get new players in, I'd rather stick Heaton at RB and tell him to do wind sprints to the halfway line and back for 90 minutes.

Because we have no other RB in the touring squad. The only other senior one is Dalot, who was unavailable due to Euro 2024 exploits. And our youth RB's are poor.
Plus, most teams continue giving players that they will likely sell some minutes. It's to help them have a pre-season, which is only fair to them, and mutually benefits all buying clubs when they're, in turn, buying someone. Buying someone who has been denied pre-season minutes isn't going to help them in the upcoming season.

I don't understand why are people upset about AWB starting. Half of our first XI is still out, that's how insignificant this game is. Also, even if he doesn't play he might get injured considering latest injuries, so I wouldn't be too bothered.
Weird way to address one of our players. He's never shown anything but commitment to the club, and has been quite useful at times.
