Manchester United Vs Leeds United

I don't use this word often, but that literally was a disgrace.

Our players just don't seem to understand what it means to the fans to be playing our big rivals any more.

We underestimated Leeds and we got what we deserved.

fecking fuming.

Hang on... Marching's giving it large in here, but didn't he stop supporting Leeds and switch to Newcastle the moment things got a bit hairy in Yorkshire?

Oh give it a rest....I have supported Leeds since I was a kid and was at OT to see Flynn score the last winner we had there. Forever Leeds.

Here we go with Leeds United
We're gonna give the boys a hand
Stand up and sing for Leeds United
We are the greatest in the land

Every day, we're all gonna say
We love you Leeds! Leeds! Leeds!
Everywhere, we're gonna be there
We love you Leeds! Leeds! Leeds!

Marchin' on together
We're gonna see you win
(na, na, na, na, na, na)
We are so proud
We shouted out loud
We love you Leeds! Leeds! Leeds!

We've been through it all together
And we've had our ups and downs
(ups and downs!)
We're gonna stay with you forever
At least until the world stops going round
Every day, we're all gonna say
We love you Leeds! Leeds! Leeds!
Everywhere, we're gonna be there
We love you Leeds! Leeds! Leeds!

Marchin' on together
We're gonna see you win
(na, na, na, na, na, na)
We are so proud
We shouted out loud
We love you Leeds! Leeds! Leeds!

Congratulations, your team played with real heart and your support was excellent. Any PL team could envy that away support.

Congrats Mr Marching. You'll deserved this one.

Seems we only know how to play football with our key trio of Evra, Fletcher and Rooney present.

Very poor from the midfield today. And Fabio is only half the player his brother is even if they have identical genes.

Too many aimless balls forward easily defended. Valencia changed it a bit, but everyone was too off the boil to capitalise.

The only positive is it's one less fixture to contend with, as a replay would have been a nightmare with our injuries.

Afternoon Rich....good day to be in Yorkshire eh? ;) All the best for 2010 mate.

It isn't even worth it, unless he teleports around the pitch and scores he is shit and lazy apparently.

I may actually give up watching football, because my eyes are obviously deceiving me. I've just been told Berbatov was woeful

If the rest of the attackers had been up to scratch, we would have won. Rooney, Owen and Welbeck all fluffed class chances.

Berbatov woeful?

He consistently created openings for us over the top. He played some of our most incisive passes in the build up as well.

He'll never be in vogue with most fans, but be fair. Woeful? You're having a laugh.

I cannot agree, I am not a Berba basher but he was not good enough and nor has he been since he was signed for 30 million.

I am one of berbatit's biggest detractors on here but have a word with yourself if you are blaming him today. He played well and orchestrated our best moves. The team wasn't arsed at all for this match and the defense was woeful. Negative marks to brown and gaz. The wings were inept as well.

We'll get it turned around for city however.

Good point. Reminded me alot of our games against Liverpool. Looked like we didn't have a clue, and the opposition were far more up for it than us.

The only positive is we'll surely see a reaction against City.

Hark at you lot crying out for more money to be spent.

How's about we take a lesson from Leeds and start getting the simple things right like passing and defending. You don't need to throw money around to get the basics right, absolute shite from us today, played much of the game like we didn't want it. Gibson - shit, Berbatov - £30m worth of shit, Owen - shit, Obertan - shit, Neville - shit. Set pieces - shit and still Fergie won't give Tosic a go.

Money won't buy you passion, look at all the money this club has spent in the last few seasons and still we struggled to get the basics right today.

We were much better in the 2nd half and peppered their goal, we were unlucky not to get something from the match. I thought Anderson played well until he was taken off, I'd have rather taken Gibson off and kept Anderson on. I thought Fabio played well at LB. Leeds are a very physical side and Fabio (and Anderson) weren't afraid to get stuck in. I thought they got in Brown's head once he was booked, they seemed intent on getting him into trouble with potentially getting sent off and I thought Valencia did well when he came on. I thought we could have had a freekick in the lead-up to their goal, I thought Welbeck was fouled and once they pumped it forward, then Beckford scored. I thought Welbeck was fouled in the penalty area and it could have been a penalty (wasn't given), I thought that we should have had a freekick when Owen was fouled just on the edge of their penalty area (again it wasn't given). I thought some of the ref decisions in the 2nd half were crap.

How many times did he stand at the top of the box doing nothing while a cross was made?

You're assuming these crosses was reachable by foot or head, of which not even a handful were. The only good cross, from Welbeck of all players, I doubt Berbatov ever dreamed of something that sublime happening. But it did make me reminisce of how Ruud always seemed to lurk for the something odd to occur. Berbatov did knock down a few hoof passes but it was a mess of red shirts running in circles.

The match was lost in midfield which left Berbatov and Rooney to do it all alone. I felt SAF should have made a change at half. Giggs never really got settled in and it took Valencia a good 10-15 minutes to assert himself. By then the match was practically lost. Anderson's energy and passing was needed far more than Gibson's one-in-ten long range shots, yet the latter remained on.

Berbatov wasn't the worst player on that pitch by a long way. His problem is that his body language makes him an easy target.

Brown was a liability all game. Fabio couldn't tackle, pass or cross for shit. Clearly no communication for the goal. Anderson improved in the second half. Welbeck was piss poor. Owen, I'm sorry but he just isn't good enough - if we didn't sign him to gobble up chances like that then what the hell is he for?

Too many players just didn't turn up today and it shows how much we struggle when we dont have Fletcher or Carrick on the pitch to battle in midfield. Some of todays poor performance was probably too many changes, players who should do better just not doing it on the day and Leeds being up for the game. Some of the squad players are being given chances to show what they can do and just not grabbing the opportunities they get.

Hopefully this acts as a wake up call to some of the squad players that they need to step up when they come into the team, as otherwise SAF wont be shy in moving players on if his patience snaps.

I'm sorry but this just didn't happen.

We had a bit of a flurry at the end. That's it.

No, we had the majority of the chances in the 2nd half. They had about two, we had a lot more than that. We were the team on top for most of the 2nd half, we created enough chances in that 2nd half to win the match but we fluffed our chances.
