Regardless, I think that's the standard that should be applied. Amad's pink being marginally closer to the goal than the defenders backside doesn't really give Amad any appreciable advantage. The game shouldn't require computers and lasers and trigonometry to figure out if someone has gained an unfair advantage by straying offside. The linesmen should be allowed to call it. If the players are close enough, not offside. If the attacker really has daylight between them, blow for offside. VAR can feck off.
