Again, people are picking out McTominay for being 'bad on the ball' but fail to realise ten Hag has played Fred and Sabitzer in those deeper positions, and it has equally been as chaotic, if not worse.

The key is finding a balance, and two of Fred, Sabitzer and McTominay as the pivot is not a balanced midfield, simply because they are all number 8's. Having Bruno in there, whilst traditionally a number 10, has allowed us to dictate games a bit better. Hopefully, we will see the same today.

The problem with early kick off is if your team wins you have nothing much to do or watch the whole weekend and if it loses your whole weekend is spoiled.

On the other hand, win a home game (where we're good) against Everton (who are bad) and we can then watch Brentford, Newcastle, Brighton and Spurs go at each other in a situation where any results are decent for us as long as we've got the points on the board in the early game.

If we shit the bed at home against Everton, I don't think any kickoff time makes it better.

I mean, you're basically just saying what I did but a bit nicer.

McTominay is a better replacement for Casmiro with the way that ETH wants our midfield to function defensively. He'll do the defensive job and positioning better than Fred or Sabitzer will. That comes with the downside that he is very poor at providing any kind of playmaking or control from that position, and neither Fred or especially Sabitzer then provide enough in that regard to make up for it as a partnership. Hence why it seems he's settled on dropping Bruno into a deeper role next to Scott to try to get that extra bit of playmaking ability, thinking that is a better balance.

It's not so much that the other three are number 8's. It's that the three of them don't provide enough on the ball. Fred isn't so bad, but Scott and Sabitzer (from what we've seen so far) are terrible.
