Manchester United vs Dortmund (Mon 31st July, 02:00 UK time)

How was the 2nd one?
Lindelof seemed to be criticizing him, probably where he was positioned and not being in the right spot to receive a pass during the build up. Could be bullshit, but Lindelof isn't the type to blame others generally so I kinda buy it.

Edit: just saw replay. Nah all on Lindelof. He could've passed it to Williams. Not sure what he was trying

Won't be long before Forsun is Forsale.

Think Sancho and Pellestri have been our best players.

Just seen the replay of their second goal, why didn't Lindelof just play it to Williams? He's in about 10 yards of space, right in front of him. Bizarre.

Minus the two silly mistakes, I think we've been really good. I know some people were moaning about the team prior to the game, but its refreshing to see a number of changes, yet the same football being played and with confidence, too. In the past, we have been reliant on individuals, but ten Hag is building a team.

No doubt we'll see a whole host of changes for the 2nd half, but impressed with what I saw from the lads. Stand outs were Pellistri and Sancho for me.

Excellent detective work

Williams couldn't have been anywhere else, it is Lindelof's.feck up solely. If he gives the ball to Brandon then he can go back to Heaton with no issues, start again. He tried to be clever and got found out.

I'll happily take one for the team and shit myself if it's a CL knockout match or a title decider. A preseason friendly, not so much.
Good man.
Laughed very loud while sitting outside and watching the game, if my neighbours bitch and moan about it tomorrow how do I explain it to them?

Watching the first goal we conceded..wtf is Dalot doing? Instead of covering the only Dortmund player he's walking back towards goal. Pure idiocy.

He just can't defend. It's his only tiny flaw.

McTom also not looking too good at 1st goal... cant just let him run past him that easy. A mistimed tackle by Williams, shouldnt be the end of the world. 2nd goal goes to Lindelof. Should've booted it away, I guess this will be the challenge for some players, find the moments when to try to play out and when not to

How the hell is anyone blaming Williams for that second goal? Feck are you watching?

Silly goals to give away after playing so well.

Thankfully it's only pre-season...

He knows nothing about football. Babbling about that we should have bought Sabitzer and that it probably was money issues... then claiming AWB was POTY

Yeah wasn't money issues Ben he just didn't do enough to convince Erik to keep him

Our centre backs have been playing line breaking passes all half, which has allowed us to get in behind their midfield and put us in good positions. Unfortunately, on that occasion, it didn't pay off and we got punished.

The Maguire abuse is pathetic, booed in the stadium before he even touched the ball, blamed by so called fans in this thread for goals that were the fault of Williams and Lindelof

Forson was lucky, he kicked out and EtH was right to hook him, Sancho and Pellestri have been good though final balls have been a bit poor

How was the 2nd one?

He needed to move up once Lindelof got the ball, instead he dawdled and put the Dortmund forwards onside. One of his teammates was yelling at him about it. He shares culpability with Lindelof and Heaton who didn't handle the press well at all.

Anyways, that second goal probably won't happen much with Onana playing the ball out. He would have dinked that ball right over that first line of press.

wtf was Maguire in the midfield when lindelof had the ball coming out of the back??? two shit decisions by Lindelof..one not to give it to Williams and two a shit ball into the midfield

Yeah for sure, saw the replay after I posted and its all on Lindelof. Williams had no hope to play the guy offside or cover.

What? The 2nd goal was a poor choice of a pass from Heaton to Lindeloff. (Put him under pressure immediately.)
The better option should have been to Brandon.

It was a risky pass executed well (unlike De Gea's bobble pass to Maguire against Seville) but Lindelof called for it and looked confident. Too bad, he shit the bed and then panicked.

Maybe it's just me but anyone else annoyed by Homewood's whole persona

Also squad planning. He could be slightly better than McTominay, still not worth buying a 30 year old box to box when ve have Eriksen, Fred and McTominay. We were never in for him regardless.

That’s why ETH picks AWB, this defence is seriously open with no real CDM, it’s why we need a genuine elite young CB that’s trying to get in the starting 11?

Happy with the football. Silly goals to give but what matters is how we've played.

Erik ten hag taking a minute to explain Forson was a really sweet moment. Forson might not even feature this season but shows how much Boss values each player

We still don’t create enough and we are not ruthless enough in front of goal.

Lovely to see Lindelof and Williams doing a mistake and Maguire doing his best marking ghosts. Will be a great day when they leave.

Why does Onana put Vaseline on his gloves? Never seen this.
