Manchester United vs. Chelsea

Does Chelsea has enough firepower? I know nothing about Schurrle, has he played as a striker before?
Mourinho is basically trying to do what a lot of teams ( notably barca) have done against us in the past, which is completely flood the midfield. Going by our past record against teams with numbers and ability in the middle, and energy to press, it's not a bad option. Up to moyes to make sure we can deal with it well.

It's a nice little early test for moyes tactically.

Thanks for the replies lads.

Yes, multiple times.

Schürrle is a fairly one dimensional player. He basically has only three things: Pace, one hell of a right strike and composure in front of the goal.

Hope that answers your question.

With Rooney, Val and Welbeck all very much able to help out in the centre I think we will be able to do that. I'm strangely enough pretty confident.

Depending how the game goes in terms of goals etc. I could see Rooney coming off for Smalling with Jones pushed into the middle if we are being totally swamped in the middle.

When was the last time that there was a top 4 game without some Sky manufactured dramatic subplot that's actually bigger than the game. Christ I yearn for a time that the football was enough of a story.

As far as I'm aware he's played off the main striker a bit in the past, but not as the most forward player in a system. Willing to be corrected on that though.

I never have seen him in a forward role and I cannot really imagine him there. He is a poor mens' Reus without his freekicks and less clinical and with less technic (even if Reus ain't the playmaker type either) - very fast with a good shot - the ideal striker for counters, but nobody that is meant for a play in the box.
