Manchester United vs. Chelsea

I know i wont be doing it again! Last time i made a thread was the champions league final 2009, we all know what happened then. Havent been brave enough to make one since, feel partly responsible for that defeat.

--------------VDS--------------
Fabio------Rio----Vidic------Evra
Valencia--Carrick--Giggs-----Park
--------Rooney---Chicharito-----

Come on United, let's get this bloody thing finished now

11 changes

Hernandez

Rooney

Players rested for a week

Players on a high after CL semi final
....

Lets be having youuuuuuuuuuuuuu

really felt that the advantage chelsea may have had with momentum has been destroyed after that win tonight - a draw or nervous performance would have done us no favours for the weekend

bring on chelsea

VDS
Fabio, Rio, Vida, Evra
Valencia, Carrick, Park, Nani
Giggs, Rooney

Bench: Chicha, Berbatov, Owen, Scholes, Anderson, O'Shea, TK.

Team should be...

GK: VDS

RB: Fabio
CB: Ferdinand
CB: Vidic
LB: Evra

RM: Valencia
CM: Carrick
CM: Giggs
LM: Park

CF: Rooney
CF: Hernandez

Subs: PIG, Smalling, Rafael, Anderson, Fletcher, Berbatov, Nani

2-1 Rooney and Valencia with our goals

It would have been better for Guardiola to come and watch us against Chelsea than against Schalke. I don't he would have learnt anything from the game he saw tonight because half that team would not be playing at Wembley.

he has a match on sunday. but i'm sure he'll have plenty of scouts at OT.

no wonder he was looking disinterested.

Evra still hasn't left OT getting treatment on his hamstring knock, big doubt for weekend.

You mean Rafael?

Edit: No you don't.

Well, assuming a fit Evra, I see no reason to change much from the team that doubled up on Chelsea in the CL:

-----------VDS-----------
Fabio---Rio----Vidic---Evra
-------Carrick---Giggs-----
Valencia---Rooney-----Park
---------Chicharito--------

Without a fit Evra, I'd rather see Rafael than O'Shea on, but after his knock, we may not have a choice.

valencia
carrick

tough on Nani but looks more solid. Everyone's predicting more or less the same lineup so you can bet your life Fergie will pull a surprise somewhere

let's get at the bastards:devil:

55-0 to Chelsea, Terry gets ten, Drogba 5, Lampard 5, Cashley 5, Torres 5, Webb sticks a couple in and invites Atkinson on to score the rest. We end up with Phelan and a dog from the crowd our only players after everyone else is sent off / arrested / poisoned by Roman.

Freshness and the fact the club is now bouncing will help us. In many ways the pressure is off us for this one.

Coles up for it;

Ashley Cole believes he will leave Manchester United's players trailing in his wake when Chelsea bid to derail their rivals' Premier League title challenge on Sunday.

The champions looked to have let their title defence slip from their grasp, but a run of eight wins from their last nine league matches has seen them close in on United, who wobbled with defeat at Arsenal last weekend.

Chelsea have already clawed back a 15-point deficit and a win at Old Trafford on Sunday would see them overhaul their rivals on goal difference. United may have home advantage, but Cole believes the Blues' form has seen him approach matches with more confidence.

"Now I go into games thinking, 'Let's see if you can stop me running' or, 'I'm going to make you chase me', rather than the other way around," Cole told Chelsea Magazine.

"Instead of thinking about how they're going to get past me they're going to be looking over their shoulders to see where I am.

"When you win things, that's what makes you realise how good it is," Cole said. "I think the pressure is what drives people on. It makes you want to prove something, to carry on going and keep on winning things. I just want to win anything because I love the feeling.

"When you stop getting that feeling, I think that's when a lot of players tend to stop playing because they haven't got the desire anymore. I've still got many years of that desire left in me and players we have here are all the same as me in that respect."

Valencia has left you in his wake anytime he's faced you recently you arrogant cnut.

God I hope we thrash these feckers on Sunday and get this league won.

Difficult to focus on this game after yesterday's result.

Same line up as the cl quarter final, same dominating performance and the same result.

Surely pinning up pictures of these twats in the dressing room, and playing recordings of their arrogant outbursts would be the best motivational tactic for our players before the game.

Let's do these cnuts

There's a very real possibility we will make a massive NINE changes for this game.

VDS
Fabio Ferdinand Vidic Evra
Carrick Giggs
Valencia Rooney Park
Hernandez

Unbelievable.

Agree with that team. I like that our line up for big matches has started to become a bit more predictable.
