Manchester United vs. Blackburn Rovers

Starting XI: ------------ Van Der Sar ----------------------
Rafael ------ Ferdinand ----------------- Vidic -------- Evra
Nani --------- Carrick ----------------- Anderson ----- Giggs
-------------- Rooney ---------------- Berbatov -----------

Bench: Kuszczak, O´Shea, Smalling, Park, Obertan, Hernandez, Macheda

 that's extremely negative but so true.

So it's Carrick and either O'Shea, Giggs or Anderson in central midfield then.

I'm hoping to see:

VDS
Rafael Ferdinand Vidic Evra
Nani Carrick Anderson Giggs
Rooney Hernandez

Gibson?

Agreed. It's something that has started to increasingly irritate me.

"He'll need a rest at the weekend."

Will he feck.

Aye. We're starting to outfergie Fergie with some of the rests we 'give' players. We also seem to accept all too easily that a CL match will be followed by a weak performance.

For all their injuries, Blackburn - whatever side they sent out - know how to play Big Sam's game. Keep it tight at the back at set pieces, and we should be alright there. As for the attack, ah, who knows. One day things will come together and our football will flow. Maybe tomorrow, you'd hope...

I just hope Fergie will stick to his word and won't make many changes. Well, no more than neccesary. That's kind of the problem after both Scholes and Giggs played in the previous match, because you don't expect them to get two starts in a row (although it can happen). Add four logical changes at the back, and you've got 6 changes out of 10 outfield players already!

Park, if any player, can play two games back to back. It amazes me that we've come down to some kind of presumtion that professional athletes can't play two games in a row. Just look at Javier Zanetti, over three seasons, Zanetti was an ever-present force on the backline, missing only a combined 11 league games in three years.*

To be fair, how many football games are played one after each other, don't know any player who'd endure 180 minutes and not need a rest. Goalkeepers perhaps. :smirk:

I was just browsing the pictures from yesterday's official launch of the Epson sponsorship deal and the entire first team squad were in attendance apart from Valencia, Hargreaves, Owen, Neville, Scholes and Gibson.

So both Fletcher and PIG were there. Not sure what's happened to Gibson. He was one of the first to pick up the virus before returning to the bench against Villa and then hasn't been seen since. I saw some mention of a family issue so perhaps that's it.

Sadly, these two guys seriously need to hang up their boots.

Owen still has a touch for scoring goals.. I want him to win the EPL with us very very much..

Gibson would be useful today ´cause BB putting 8 behind the ball all the time, we need some penetration and Gibson also has the gun of a shot which is a good weapon vs. Robinson.. Carrick has played a lot of games lately and it would be good to give Gibbo a run from the start.

So....whats the snow like in Manchester?

Clearly suffering from Fergie noticing that he's shit, and also judging from his MUTV interviews, dumb as feck.

Or maybe because his daughter is in hospital?

What a credit you are to this forum.

Prediction: 2-2

SKY BET odds: Man Utd 2/9, Draw 5/1, Rovers 12/1

One to Watch: Morten Gamst Pedersen

They're not eejits. They hope to lure some of their intellectually-challenged readers into betting on the long odds draw...

Really hope Hernandez starts this one, he's in form, scoring goals so start. Berba is playing well at times but not in goal scoring form and Rooney is still not there.

VDS
Rafael Rio Vidic Evra
Nani Carrick Anderson Park
Rooney Berbatov

Pretty sure that is the starting XI today. Doubt Fergie wants to risk Scholes, and no chance Giggs starting after the 90 on wednesday.
