So good to have Rashy back in the starting XI

Cmon United. We need a reaction. Let's get this win!

Hmm not sure I agree with that Rashford can be creative at times

He can but he is also prone to one too many cutbacks and trying too many jukes. When it works, like against Brighton last year (?? god it feels like it was forever ago) when he made Ben White look foolish, its great. But it can also be frustrating.

And Greenwood this season looks determined to never pass again. So, I agree with the tweet.

I wonder how SAF would have lined up with our squad right now. Don't think Sancho would have been in his starting XI, either.

    Ronaldo Cavani
    Rashford Bruno Pogba Greenwood
    Shaw Maguire Varane Dalot
    DDG

    is what I think.

I'm excited, have a good feeling with the team. Think we'll hopefully see a team up for it.

Yeah but 2 sitters. City basically play with a 2 man midfield and you don’t see them shitting themselves under pressure or having 1 pass cut them open.
2 in midfield or 3 doesn’t matter, we still need 2 midfielders regardless IMO

It seems like you don't understand number 10s are supposed to join the midfield in defensive state. It's like basic football. Bruno doesn't do that and instead almost plays as a second striker which creates a tactical problem, which gets magnified more when Pogba and Ronaldo are both on the pitch.

  . You mean, Ronaldo on bench vs Pool? Joking or...?
To be clear, i agree that Cavani is maybe better option but come on, Ronaldo will never be benched (again)

There's no maybe about it. Cavani pressed like a maniac the last time he came on and we got a goal because of his hard work. Ronaldo offers nothing outside the box now.

If Ole wants to keep his job he'd want to drop Ronaldo at the weekend. He's hardly going to be starting twice a week, is he?

With Shaw and Maguire it's the same as with De Gea the past 2 seasons. You don't get dropped if your a big name even when your form is absolutely diabolical. This is the shit that's going to cost Ole his job.

Thanks .. yeah the numbers are pretty meaningless even with other players let alone Bruno with a free role.

It's a bit weird to hear 4-2-4 .. maybe that's his way of making it seem like this is an attacking line up and don't hate on McFred?

I may have to eat my words if Bruno is literally alongside Ronaldo the whole time.

He's added nothing lately. Was this a surprise?

Delighted to see Ronaldo starting. Hope these means we see Cavani starting against the scousers.
If I am missing the joke, I apologize! But yeah fing right! Ronaldo will play every minute no matter what, especially after SAF questioned Ole for the Everton decision.

Coincidentally, that's a good way to get sacked as well. Imagine dropping Ronaldo and losing, the press will be baying for blood.

That said, I do agree that we should drop Ronaldo for Cavani.

No way man. Ronaldo will never be benched. I mean...never, ever.
Not to mention that Ronaldo would go straight to Glazers and demanded sacking for Ole

Lovely how this place mishears something and turns it into something it's not.

The BT sport interviewer basically tried to criticise him for starting McFred and it being too defensive.

    Then Ole said this (Paraphrasing):

When we have them in there and we are controlling the game we can almost be 4-2-4 with the ball.

So what Ole is saying is that with McFred it allows the other 2 (Rashford/Greenwood) to push up and attack more.....so basically act as a 4-2-4 formation.

    I might have too, maybe.

curious as to @MichaelRed selection though.

what he would have done instead of Ole. Hopefully replies pre kickoff (not after the event).. :(
I did reply to you bud. I'll copy & re-post it here.

It would depend on the game I suppose but if we're solely talking about tonight I'd go with 3 in midfield rather than a 2. GK & back 4 I'd leave the same. Midfield 3 would probably be Matic, VdB & Pogba or Fred, VdB & Pogba. Wouldn't play Bruno on this occassion unless I was certain I could get him to play midfield rather than as a striker. Sancho on the right & Greenwood or Rashford on the left, probably Greenwood because of form & he's so two-footed that he could cut inside & shoot or just as comfortabley go down the outside & create for Ronaldo who would be my striker. Sancho on the right obviously so he can take his man on, stretch the pitch & create too. I think it's criminal that we don't cross the ball into Ronaldo despite his dominance in the air. Same goes for if we play Cavani, a joke to not be getting crosses in.

McFred in the midfield and Sancho on the bench. AHAHAHAH
    Yeah, we are hopeless

You're basically looking at it on paper as 2 but the whole midfield press and defend together and both fullbacks come inside to create an overload. Unlike Ole who has two sitting and are the only ones carrying the load leading to being dominated half the time. Bruno and the wingers need to press in unsion alongside McFred otherwise we can sign Kroos and Casimero and still struggle.
Bruno does press though. He’s one of the hardest workers in the side. He can’t press for the other 2 midfielders and do their work for them.
Play higher up, get two midfielders who don’t panic when in possession and the supposed Bruno issue is solved. Condense the space ala City and we’re flying. I remember when this place was crying for Regulion because we couldn’t play attacking football with Shaw at FB. It’s up to the manager at this stage
