Manchester United v Middlesbrough

suppose we all deserve this after laughing at ARSEnal for going out in the Champions league. Now its not in our hands anymore and that sucks. NO excuses for losing at home to BORO. What is more frustrating is we havent scored against them in two games. I suppose DAVO will say they are better then us to. We really missed OGS and KEano but normally we should have finished this team off. And you know the BTC inces will be loving this :mad:

Lets face it, we don't really deserve to win the title. Look at our home defeats alone this season, Bolton-Chelsea-West Ham-Liverpool-Middlesbrough. Thats not championship winning results. Lets just hope it goes to a team who try to entertain, Good luck Arsenal. ;)

As soon as i saw that dick beef Ugo Ehiog and dirty Southgate on the team sheet...i thought "oh no...they are gonna play like Liverpoo again..."

This is 98 all over again, with one exception we can at least take the biggest prize at the end of the season. We have won 7 titles in 9 years certainly lifting the European Cup in Glasgow will ease the pain if we cant win the Prem ;)

Who were those idiots leaving the match with 5 min to go? Instead of cheering the team on--a team known for last minute heroics?! During those moments players need some confidence and what do they see?--Their own fans leaving. :mad: :( :mad:
 
I just worry that other teams will come and play this way, Ill take leeds or ARSEnal who normally come to play. Full credit to BORO but honestly 16 shots on goal and only 4 on target. We are our own worst enemy. SHould have known this was going to happen when DUKE went out of the tourney in the states. Bad things always happen in 3s for me. Usually United stop the bad luck run looks like this time they are keeping it alive :mad:
 
We must now accept that we are UNDERDOGS for the title now, quit gloating too much, keep silent, and take things game by game. Let the arse and the scousers do the gloating for now... then when we do win it by the end of the season it would make it all the sweeter.
 
I hope Fergie will go home and do some homework...got to try to find a tactic against these defensive teams.

I disagree that he was a traitor. He recognised that he needed to move on for the sake of his career and went with SAF's blessing, as I recall.

The fact of the matter is that Middlesbrough exposed the dodgy defence and proved that the old addage of "If we concede 3 then we'll score 4" is wrong. They showed that Utd are vulnerable when teams dig in and put in a dogged display against them.

There should have been at least 1 pen. but he gave none. Also he made some crappy decisions and stupid bookings!

You can call us (Liverpool) whatever you like. Our style of play gets results, which is all that matters. As Gerard Houllier has said:- ""You ruin your best offensive virtues, if you don't have a good defensive base."

Another one is "If you defend well you can attack freely and score more goals. A strong, solid defence provides the basis for strong attacking play."

I think Gerards philosophy of football is bang on.

blaming the ref is for arse fans and pool fans. We didnt score at home even though we created many chances. If you dont score you dont win, simple as that. Obviously boro knows something because we havent score in ages against them
 
Few points from today's game...

Carbone played a blinder...

Compared to today's performance it was hard to see which player was in the 28M bracket Veron or Mustoe...

Forlan has yet to convince me that he is more than a 'Boro' Class player...

United got beaten by a well organized team... something which United is definitely not at the moment... and reading Ferguson's comment before the game... regarding that he thought the defensive problems were behind us, seem a bit ironic at the moment...

I feel miserable...

All i can say is that Ole is as important a striker for us as Ruud is. Nothing against Forlan, the lad played his heart out and got no breaks.

Ole and Keano were thoroughly missed.

We did miss Keano but I think we missed Ole even more.

He just might have the one to get on the end of one of those many misdirected passes. Forlan -- lets just play him in midfield -- bless him he can run forever!
 
78 who does forlan come in for in the midfield? Fergie has shut the door on a possible solution by not playing yorke at all. clearly something happened between them.

yes and this stuborness may cost us the title. Certainly he thought forlan would come in an score some goals, but dwight still averages a goal in every 2-21/2 games. Im certain he would love to come on a show the world he can still play at this level.
