Clyne - 25 million
Laporte - 30 million
Bale - 65 million
Depay - 30 million
a CM - 30-60 million (depending on whether its top bracket like Pogba, or level below)

and possibly a new GK (up to 30 million)

That would be a great Summer IMO with Schneiderlin being that midfielder if Pogba wasn't available.
If I was being extra picky i'd add a Striker to (and not Danny fecking Ings)

Think overall, this is one of the poorest markets for years. Couple of top players might be on the market, but ultimately, I think most options seem unconvincing in one way or another, and overpriced high risk players.

Will be a tough summer.

Really? I think it could be the best summer in years for us. There are quite a lot of quality players to get from smaller clubs IMO.

Not the level of quality that I believe will close the gap on the very top clubs in my opinion. There are a lot of good players, but every £20m/£30m+ signing we have been linked with seems to come with huge question marks.

I know everyone won't necessarily be the 'finished product', but I think that whether it is recovering from serious injury, not proven at a respectable level, or just a level or two below the quality of rival players - always seems to be something. Players like Koke, Pogba, Reus are perhaps a handful of very top players who may possibly move this summer, but they are either more likely to stay or go elsewhere. The likes of Clyne, Hummels, Gundogan, Ings and even Bale and Depay have some question marks as to whether they will help us take the step.

We don't actually have much choice. Its unlikely the very top players from abroad are likely to pump for United right now. Its a bigger risk for them IMO to up sticks for a team scratching around for top 4th against teams like West Brom! That rules out Koke, Pogba, Reus unless we appeal to them more than Barca and Madrid and the others.

Lose Rafa, Jones and Evans - Sign Clyne, Otamendi and Hummels (We need less injury prone defenders!)
Lose Fellaini - Sign Schneiderlin
Lose Cleverley - Sign Gundogan
Lose Falcao & Hernandez - Sign Depay and give Adnan/Wilson more gametime.

Neither are great. I would be surprised if he got rid of Jones, just a feeling. However he does seem to want Hummels.

Jones has always been more injury prone. He's also a million miles performance wise from Hummels so really its not even worth comparing hey. I too think we'll keep Jones and Smalling and obviously Rojo and add Hummels or Otamendi. My argument is we'd be better off pumping for both and losing Jones/Evans and Rafa to help balance the books. Thats all. There's an argument against so much upheavel especially in the short term but Jones is made of glass and thats not changing with age.

A RB, Quarterback CM, A number 9, An attacking wide player. CB is not as much of an issue for me if we can keep players fit, but if we do sign one I hope it is a proven performer rather than a fixer upper as we already have a couple of those.

I think we should sell Evans and get an established centre back, someone like Hummels.

We need a carrick heir, so someone like Gundogan but we also need a big signing IMO and id love that to be someone like Koke or Pogba.

A young 20s striker like Dybala with a good few seasons and who is looking to become top level.

An established right back and sell Rafael if you wont use him.Someone like Clyne or Darmian..

In order of importance.

1: Heir to Carrick.
2/3: Central defender & leader. Although Smalling might evolve into that role.
2/3: Rightback. Rafael is injured constantly and we can do better then Valencia.
4: Striker who actually scores a lot of goals.
5: Midfielder to compete for a spot with Herrera and Fellaini.

If we are only playing one DM, why would it matter if they are left or right footed? He is almost making it sound like he will play two.

That is his prefered way, so it could happen next season with one of Mata and Rooney behind the striker. I agree it sounds weird atm, but LvG has his own way of thinking

I actually feel we have that, from the 3 of Rooney,RVP and Wilson that can be a lot of goals with the right kind of players behind them, for example Rooney has played most of the season in Midfield and I think he's capable of 20 goals a season, RVP even at his age is still one of the best strikers in the world when he has form and the right delivery and can score a good 15+ goals a season still and I really see a bright future for Wilson, he's very talented and a born goal scorer and I really hope we play him more next season because I feel if he gets a run of games he will bang them in and also i forgot we have Lingard as well.

Now we have Memphis I hope we start thinking about the other flank rather than a striker.

CB - Laporte or Stones
CM - Pogba/Koke/Verratti/Vidal (maybe)
DM - Schneiderlin/Kondogbia/Xhaka/Krychowiak
FW - Muller/Dybala/Fekir/Felipe Anderson

No i mean, why does it matter what foot our DM uses? We only use one.

Its like saying he wants a right sided Goalkeeper to replace De Gea, it doesn't matter. It's a one man position

My guess is that Van Gaal wants a left-sided DM and a right-sided DM to be able to have the option to play both at once in a 4-2-3-1 or 4-4-1-1 or 4-2-3-1 and he doesn't want to come right out and say Carrick can't be counted on and should be seen as an extra player whose availability should be seen as a bonus rather than counted on.

I'm thinking that we're going to sign a defensive CM of some kind and then either:
A. A CM to compete with/start instead of Fellaini
B. A right-winger with Mata or even Herrera playing more often as a traditional 10.

We sort of knew Depay would sign for us in the same way we knew Shaw would sign for us, now the real excitement begins!

i agree with this list. There are many good options this summer in every position, we should look to bolster our squad and really take advantage of the weak Euro. I mean look at DM, all of them are easily gettable and are very good players, i would take any of them right now.

--------Vidal--------Blind (Herrera)-------
----Di Maria---Mata------Depay--------
---------------Rooney------------

or

----------Vidal----Blind-----------
---Mata-----Herrera------Depay
-------------Rooney----------------

not bad

This is the perfect summer for us to make moves to strengthen everywhere before the Euro rebounds or the loophole in FFP is found. It would also be a good idea to leave as little business as possible for next summer as it's the European Championships and that stalls everything.

All of them. Done.

Heh! :D Two new teams worth. Not a Muller fan?

Really hope we go full muppet and get Clyne, Schneiderlin, Gundogun, Hummels and Bale.

DDG
Clyne
Smalling
Hummels
Shaw
Gundogan
Schneiderlin
Bale
Di Maria
Depay
Rooney

Mata, Carrick and Herrera as subs. Would be ridiculous.
