Manchester United kits 2016/17

I don't like the two different shades of red, would've preferred just one but it's not bad.

Here is what I think of it:

-I don't like half and half shirts, never did, never will
-The 2 tones of red don't fit well together, they make the shirt look weird
-I don't like the fact that the back is not the same as the front, back is 1 solid color, front is two halves, it is not symmetry and feels like the back belongs to another shirt than the front, it doesn't work at all
-The seperation of the two halves in the beehive motive is weird, unnecessary and ugly
-I don't like the fac that the white stripes on the sides don't extend to the shoulders

I think it is one of the ugliest home shirts we have ever had and it is almost as bad as that stupid pyjama looking blue away shirt we have this year.

And the promotional video makes it even look uglier than it really is.

I know people have been complaining about the Chevrolet logo for a long time, but just look how much better this would be:

That is far better.

This would look a lot better.

There's just no need to have that logo on.

But I suppose they get to call the shots, seeing as they're paying us a billion pounds a year or whatever...

I really dislike the blue away kit club crest in a single colour. Same problem as last years black one with it all orange. Leave that for the training tops.

Looks like they even have trouble trying to make one colour, it's messy and unclear, and more like a darkish red smudge.

How it should be done

It's a tough call between getting Ibrahimovic 9 or Martial 11 but I think I'll go with Zlatan. Liking the new home shirt, definite similarities to the one we won the champions league in which is nice. Always good to be reminded of the glorious night in Moscow where Mr Chelsea slipped on his arse.

The problem I'm having at the moment is finding the shirt online for a remotely reasonable price. Adidas are charging ridiculous amounts on their website, Sports Direct seen the cheapest but when you add printing on it soon adds up to more like £65-£70.

Clubs really do love to rip off their fans these days. To get the 'authentic' shirt that the players actually wear you're looking at closer to £100....it's insane and we shouldn't be asked to pay that much but just the way it is these days I guess.

If you want the new shirt and don't want a knock off cheap one from eBay you're going to be stuck paying that amount every single year, oh well at least it looks a decent enough design this year. It would be miles better without the damn Chevrolet logo but that's just something we will have to live with until the deal runs out.

People are really going to have to get over the chevy logo. The bloke that got us that deal got fired by them for paying us so much so I imagine that logo isnt going anywhere.

In fact if I were GM id be a bit miffed at how much exposure Aon still get on TV with our training shirts etc for a fraction of the price.

Very well said. I pretty much agree with everything you said, even though it looks like the majority here love them.

Personally, I think the jersey looks cheap, like it's printed on cheap t-shirt material. I didn't buy one this year, so I don't know what kind of material it is though. I don't like the hive design, and the 2 tones of red do not work together as there is nothing to contrast them. In my opinion, the best Adidas kits always have had the 3 stripes on the shoulders/sleeves. I would have hoped for a normal but classy red jersey with white stripes for the home kit. A nice white kit for the away (instead of the ugly blue!!), and a sharp looking all black 3rd kit (with maybe red, orange, or even white stripes).

Yea just a full red kit for the home shirt, a full white kit for the away shirt and a full black kit for the 3th shirt

Nice color, nice material, put a colar on the shirt so it doesn't look like a cheap t-shirt, put some nice detaisl on it like colored little devils and stylish air holes on the side so the shirt can breath, to finish it off triple full lines on the shoulders and sleeves.

For the red kit, the devils and lines and the addidas logo go in white

For the white kit, the devils and lines and addidas logo go in red

For the black kit, the devils and lines and addidas logo can go in either white or red both would be classy

Shorts should also be fitting the kit, so a red pair, a white pair and a black pair

Allowing us to combine and have a total of 9 different looks over the season that would all look super great
-Full red, red and white, red and black
-Full white, white and red, white and black
-Full black, black and white, black and red

All with the same classy design, somber but top class material with very refined details

How hard is that ?

No we pay millions for a bunch of retards to sew together 2 halves of red on 1 shirt and then they can't even get the coloring, seperation and rest of the detailing right and it all looks dirty cheap and weird and ugly

Definitely getting one of those. Best we've had since 2009 for me.

Only question now is, Ibra or Pogba?

It looks like they have recycled old blue pyjamas they collected from live aid to make the shirt and sewn up a United logo they bought from some dodgey turkish streetseller

It is a fecking disgrace

it's a little meh but I'll probably get it anyway I always do

Ibra on the back of course

Just got the blue away kit for $10 while on holiday in Thailand. It actually looks really good and even had the "official" adidas tags on it. I agree with RedShaw though, the logo shouldn't be one color.
Think i'm going to get Martial 11 printed on it for another $10, looks like a real one but for alot less money.
Too bad i can't post pictures as a new member.

The post right above yours shows what looks like an all black kit with red trim for the goalkeeper, is that about what you had in mind for the 3rd kit? To me, that's spot on what the 3rd kit should be like. Sharp. Hope for better next year then.

I've gone and got the new home kit today for the lad. I have to say photos don't do it justice. It's a very nice kit. Long sleeves, prem badges, ibrahimovic 9 on the back. £102. And that was getting the shorts and socks at sports direct as they are cheaper. No wonder we can afford to spend £100m on Pogba.

:eek: I thought an adult kit used to cost around £35 in the cheaper shops

Anyone have a link for any shops selling on Aliexpress?.. United shirts are always hard to find on there due to not having the proper name in the title

I actually like all three kits this season for the first time in god knows how long. I hated the blue away kit when I first saw a picture of it but I think it looks really nice up close. I'm not totally sold on the honeycomb motif to be honest but I don't think it looks terrible, just unnecessary. I'll probably buy the official version of the white one when it's released and I'll check if I can get a decent copy off Ali Express for the other 2.

The only thing that does bug me is the recent trend for having a single colour badge on the away kits and third kits. The blue one would look much nicer IMO if the badge was fully coloured but it's not a deal breaker for me, just something I find a bit annoying.

I know people have been complaining about the Chevrolet logo for a long time, but just look how much better this would be:
Even Zlatan face is half and half. In one half he is determine and focus, another half he is smiling and happy. How is that even possible?

Home kit is neither here nor there for me, it's not the worst we've worn but it's not one of the best either.

Best:
06/07 (Best kit ever IMO)
13/14 (The only good thing about that season)
98/00 (Zip, my first ever home kit)

Worst:
10/11 (I did buy that one though)
02/04 (Looking back it was probably the worst of the Nike deal)
12/13 (Gingham...)

No disrespect but I'm glad you don't do our kit design

The one we wore for 07/08 and 08/09 was my favourite we've had. Great shade of red and nice and simple.

Not a fan of the new home shirt although it has grown on me a little since the launch but I won't be buying it. I do like the new blue one though.

Devils on a shirt? That would look ridiculous. It would look like some kid shirt.
And why would we have 9 different looks. We have 3 kits, sometimes black shorts instead of white and thats that.

Its a great kit, I like it a lot.

p.s. when does our white away kit come out?

Blue is the away.

3rd kit will probably be out mid August-September, depending on the first time that it is required. (Palace?)

Dude read, I said little devils as a detail of the shirt, I have the 2013 shirt I think, it also has a little black devil right underneath the colar, that is what I'am talking about, just 1 under the colar and 2 small ones on the side, you know to make it something more than just a colored piece of fabric with the United logo sewn on. Refined details.

I know we have 3 kits, I'd just like to have 3 shorts aswell in my design I described.

You can like the current kid, flavors can't be discussed. But It looks more like a fake Galatasaray shirt that has accidently been washed together with a United shirt. The design on it is pointless, has no bearing on the club and is ugly, it lacks symmetry and as I said it looks dirt cheap.

If we had just red, white and black kits people would complain its boring. Also Im not a fan of collars on football kits. Not very kit with a collar looks good.
Little devils would be nice but this years kit has newton heath behind neck so no problem. Every kit till now had that kind of small detail.

Anyway this years kit doesnt look cheap at all but lets agree to disagree. Dont know what all the fuss is about.
