The home shirt on the other hand...

love the old school look of this. from the placement of the adidas badge though, it hardly looks likely to be legit

I'd like it if they made a few changes to it. The ends of the sleeves just look so over designed, I'd remove that thick black part. Then get rid of the random white stripes beneath the sleeves and finally reposition that Adidas logo so it's level with the United crest.

I'd be very interested to see what it'd look like if someone bothered to Photoshop the changes.

No idea if that one is somewhat legit or just something thats been knocked up for Aliexpress.

Having said that i actually think its not bad, you're right about the black bits they do look out of place same with the adidas logo. It looks much better without them and looks pretty similar to this late 80's United kit.

Thanks man, that looks so much better. Simple designs will always be the best.

"Nike are awful, why cant we have adidas!?"

Grass is always greener and all that.

I think this is the one we will end up with. Although if the logo would be on line with the badge it would be one of the best kits we've had!

The picture that keeps appearing for next years kit, I think with a long sleeve version would look pretty sweet, as it would get rid of those big white strips.

There's no way pictures of one of the most anticipated new kits we've ever had have already been leaked. All fake.

Adidas do very classy kits, have no fear!

I think the kit companies leak a lot of designs themselves. They might have a trim they are thinking of using, a certain neck style or badge positioning and they leak it in a very different generic kit design or something that obviously looks fake and then monitor the reaction to it.

Well at least we both agree that nasty thing won't be our final design then!

I don't want an MLS style kit, which adidas sometimes produce.

Why's that then? In today's social media age, never before has information been so insecure.

Whenever we get a new kit a third of us will like it, a third of us will despise it and a third of us won't particularly care.

The last third are the correct ones.

As long as they don't put a massive cock on the front or change it from red, why should we bother having such strong opinions on it? If you haven't noticed, all sportswear is horrible and wearing it over the age of 12 (unless at a gym or actually playing sports) makes you look like a chav or an idiot, or both.

Just spotted these unusual shirts are cropping up a bit more (I saw someone wearing one at a home match a couple of months back) on the internet: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mancheste...494?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item2a4cc69a5e

It seems to be an official Adidas Tabela 14 teamwear shirt with a Sharp logo printed on it and... the crest I designed and posted on this forum five years ago! The Club Crest

Anyone know anything about where they've come from? It claims to have a 'custom designed MUFC crest'. Well, it was custom designed, but not for whoever has been producing them!

I heard adidas are going to be bringing out some stuff with the Sharp logo on but I don't think these are legit.

There was a rumor about a vintage design, several months ago.

I was told by someone at adidas they were talking to Sharp about licensing some stuff, you'd imagine that would only be for some retro stuff with the trefoil on it. They did it with Liverpool. I reckon they'll do the 85 top and tracky top. United already sell gear with Sharp sponsoring on it, makes sense they'd do some proper stuff with the adidas branding.

It'd be amazing if it was some Adidas Originals retro gear

How long till people wil want us to go back to Nike.

I like that home kit on this page btw. If it will be similar to that I'll be happy.

I personally do not think the companies would do this. They would make use of focus groups / younger footballers to test their products and provide feedback, but they are incredible secretive about potential kit designs - as it only serves to feed the market for fakes.

I remember when Nike launched this kit:

As always, the product catalogues never showed actual images of the kit in advance, but the sales guys usually received samples of the kits. For this kit, there weren't even any samples - all they received was a small swatch of the fabric color - and these had to be literally signed out by each person.

Don't mind what bloody style or material it is as long as it's under £10 so hard up families can afford them.....

Ps. Not a practising team shirt wearer at games.

Surely the kit should be based on having the best technology for the players, rather than the cost for someone to wear while watching a match?

Technology in football shirts, worse it's feckin' getting.

Has it been proven yet that all these extra holes in parts of the jersey, the tightness of it, the material and whatever else they do to them these days makes a lad a better footballer?

Next they'll be saying a certain colour makes them perform better. It's all a money racket to me.

Nice post. It is a racket that costs the fans an aweful lot of money. On the assumption that United have 2 million fans globally, that's a larger number than those shirts purchased for 40 plus games in a season for 40 odd players in a squad. The numbers don't lie, pity the clubs have to be so dishonest in abusing the loyalty of their fans.

Would love more info on this! I'd be more tempted to buy this than a new kit.

Why not go to the retro shop around the corner from OT and buy shirts there. They have an online facility and they also do quite good deals in the summer.

Do you mean the one on the corner opposite the Bishop Blaize?

I've not gone for those previously as they don't appear to be as good quality as an adidas produced product.

Yes that's the one. I got a repro for the 1968 EC and the quality is quite nice, old style and cotton. Comfortable. But that's down to preference, the new shirts of rayon and polyester irritate the crap out of me.

Check out 3in1 Football. They do tons of good quality reproductions of 70's and 80's tops.
