Manchester United express an interest in Diafra Sakho

Not much worse than Benteke I guess, and will probably cost much less than £32m. That said, not sure he's the one myself.
 
How many goals he get last season? He can work to be honest but probably need something higher.

1) English media
2) We don't express interest anymore, we just go ahead and sign the players if our last 2 deals are anything to go buy.

This is just a scenario in a journalist's head.

That really isn't the quality we should we going for. If this is ture and we do end up signing him he'll be nothing more than a fringe player to stand in for Rooney in case he is injurred.
 
He's better than Ings IMO.

I actually like him, but I doubt we're after him and I don't think we should be.
 
Some over-reactions on here! Its probably not true but...he's a good player, as good as Benteke imo, although I'd hope we get better than either - need someone to push Rooney all the way for his place in the team
 
I'd rather watch paint dry than watch this guy play for us.

Frozen is good. I had to watch it multiple times with my niece.

10 goals in 23 appearances in his first season in the premier league. He's not that bad i guess but wouldnt get in front of Rooney though, so no way. Need that 20+ goal scorer.
 
Judging from some of the reactions to this rumour, some of you must have lost your minds when we signed Saha from Fulham and Chico from Chivas. :lol:

I don't think we'll be in the market for a Rooney replacement, the captain of this team. We need our own version of Remy.

Saha once scored 30 goals in one season though and we had a 30 goal Rooney when we signed Chicha

We had good strikers when we signed both of those players.

When we signed Saha we also got the dynamic young Wayne Rooney, and when we got Chicharito we had a prime Rooney and the experienced Berbatov. If we got this mediocrity now we'd have an aging Rooney who's best is behind him, and a 19 year old who hasn't proven anything yet.
 
I have a feeling Woody basically has a list of players he wants to sign and another list for the English media.
 
Sakho is still very unproven. Went from Ligue 2 to scoring in the PL. That's a big leap. Bigger than coming from the Championship and scoring. He's done something that a lot of players have failed to do.

He's a good striker but not United level most likely. Same age as Austin, older than Berahino, Lukaku, Kane and Benteke. There are just a lot better options out there.
 
I quite liked him last season but I hope we go for someone better. He's more of a rotation option
 
Seems like a decent third striker option - similar to how Chelsea have Remy. If Wilson is going out on loan then he wouldn't be a terrible signing.
