But reports say the big teams and teams in Italy were trying to sign him so your point means nothing. Not all players move early to big teams anyway so also a meaningless point.

He played mainly for their u19 squad last season and scored 10 goals in 33 games from the wing even though they're 1 of the worst teams in the league. I really don't get the logic of some people writing off a lad who only turned 19 because he doesn't play for 1 of the top teams in Portugal

Interesting info, really have no idea what to expect from this signing. I just want to see him play for one of our teams, before making any judgement. I was burnt by Obertan and still get rinsed by my mates today for it! I think the writing off is because he's not the shiny new toy a lot of fans want for the first team, but I don't think they're mutually exclusive.
 
So are we really signing him or are we being used to get some club to make a stupid bid to buy him?

I am not opposed to buying young unknown "young" prospects, but this smells of Bebe type of deal. Who are we paying off this time?
