Man Utd to redesign club crest - Rumour

I'd be glad to see a new design for the badge, it's not like the current one is a masterpiece.

This fake one isn't bad at all. Can't be arsed about the stars - if I'm forced to take sides I'd say go for the Italian model and represent the league titles on the badge.

I've just thrown up a bit in my mouth.

I assume he was being ironic or summit.

Anyway, the point is correct! Would you rather we were still using this or an even older one?

This whole stars thing is very childish. Why do people feel the need to have a zillion stars? Other teams would have more stars, so what? That's historically accurate, deal with it.

I for one don't mind the stars one bit, they are part of our heritage. Why should we hide or be embarrased by the achievements of some of our most legendary players? It's a cause for celebration, we've won it three times, we've been mighty close a few others but it didn't work out, got robbed a couple of others... That's European competitions for you.

Yes, Liverpool have five, a flukey one and four from an era of consistent domination which took place, was real, and you can only take your hat off to them for it.

There's nothing embarrassing in having more or less stars, what is embarrassing is to prefer to hide the achievements of Law, Charlton, Best, Schmeichel, Keane, Scholes, Giggs, Rooney, Ronaldo, Rio... than to face potential rival taunts for having less stars on a crest, particularly when that rival has never won the Premiership FFS, not once, to our thirteen.

Grow up.

You've got me mistaken.

i am not embarrassed by the clubs achievements 1 bit, of course i am proud of the 3 European titles.

I am just putting my opinion across that why do we all need multiple badges on the crest?. I think its a stupid idea, if we are going to have stars for CL wins, why not a star for every league win?. How about a moon for every fa cup win while we are at it?.

Its not the fact i dont like it on "our" club shirt, i think its a silly idea for everybody.

and thanks but i have grown up...

The current one is gash and so is the fake one.

From newbies:

Apparently it's happened before, that this fan made one is mistakenly seen as the new badge.

The person who did that badge also redesigned some crests of League of Ireland clubs: http://imgur.com/a/K9mGL

I think we should have two stars, one for each 10 league wins.

I think they should sling FC back on if they're going to radically re-design it. Any minor changes like we've had in the past don't really present the opportunity to go "backwards" but a proper overhaul like the rumoured one lets them do what they want really.

The leaked pics of the new kit IS the kit for next season and it has the same badge we've been using for 20 years.

The current one has a certain classic feel, compares to that fake one.

The start business is ridiculous unless there's some rule to it. Makes sense for the national teams to represent their World Cup wins but not for clubs unless they all redo them. It's just pompous.

I agree the stars are not necessary. Mind you, that sample one looks really dull once you take them away. The way you put it across though looked a prime example of several posts getting knickers in a twist over three stars being too few, embarrassing, etc.

I would have no problem seeing three stars on it.

That's what they do in Italy, every 10 titles gets you a star. It's an official thing though so not any Tom, Dick and Harry can pretend they're successful and put stars on like City did.
