Man United's Premier League record when winning at half time at Old Trafford - 293 Wins, 24 Draws, 0 Defeats

We have conceded first on so many occasions that usually if we score first, you already feel like it’s gonna be a good result.

I kind of hate it. It scares the shit out of me we're going to lose it every time we're winning at half time, especially on a day like today!

It's all I could think about at half time

I did some research on this a few years ago (August 2019) to put it into context. I too get nervous every time we are winning at half-time in the league at home.

Some intial research at soccerstats.com suggests there’s less than 10 games a season where the home side leads at HT and loses at FT. Surprising how low it is.

City last lost in 16/17 1-2 to Chelsea at Etihad when 1-0 at HT!
Spurs lost to Newcastle in 14/15 with the same pattern too.
Chelsea lost 3-5 to Arsenal in 11/12 when 2-1 at HT.
Arsenal lost 2-3 to Spurs in 10/11 when 2-0 at HT.
Liverpool lost 1-2 to Arsenal in 09/10 when 1-0 at HT.

We’ve not lost at home leading at HT in the league since 1983/14! What a fecking outlier that is! I wasn’t sure how impressive that stat was until now!

Just last season, Arsenal last 1-2 to City after being 1-0 at HT.

I feel like every time they show stats like this, they end up getting broken.

Think it was Newcastle at OT in the Moyes season, and then Everton in the next game.

Really is jinx.

They've been reeling this statistic out for years. Mad it still stands given how bad we've been in recent years

These are the fixtures where we have dropped a lead after half time in the last 20 years.

02/03 vs Man City
03/04
04/05 vs WBA
05/06 vs Man City, vs Tottenham
06/07 vs Chelsea
07/08
08/09
09/10
10/11 vs WBA
11/12
12/13
13/14 vs Southampton
14/15 vs Arsenal
15/16
16/17 vs Swansea
17/18
18/19 vs Wolves
19/20 vs Arsenal vs Southampton
20/21 vs Everton, vs Fulham
21/22 vs Everton, vs Southampton

All of them were 1-1 draws, except for against WBA in the 10/11 season and Southampton in 19/20, which were 2:2 draws, and a 3:3 draw against Everton in 20/21.

3 draws: vs Southampton
2 draws: vs Man City, Everton, WBA, Arsenal.
1 draw: Fulham, Wolves, Tottenham, Chelsea, Swansea.

Can't be bothered to find out the others from 1992 to 2002, but another two from the top of my head were, if I'm not mistaken, a 3:3 draw against Chelsea in 00/01 and a 3:3 draw against Southampton in 99/000 (thanks Taibi).

Feel this record is under threat today. We should win but...

Some absolute idiots on this forum.

Some of you are so weird. In a game we are controlling so well, you bump this.

We live in the real world. A thread bump has no effect on the outcome of a football game.

If this record stays in tact tonight, we will qualify for the CL.
