He’d be mad to go there, aside from the fact he will most likely get a huge wad and another PL medal
First of all, I do no see everything as Jose vs Pep. There are things both managers are good at and there are few things in which one is different/better than other.
I think Pep has brought more than his fair share of youngsters in his relatively short career. Regarding Roberto, Deulofou - they were not regular but they got a crack, they got a fair chance, and thats what is needed. Its not like a youth has to be regular instantly to be called that he was brought on by a particular manager.
Reagarding youth graduates from City and us, I am sure we are producing more at the moment, it was like that 5 years ago and I doubt its going to change in just 2-3 years. BUt this is Pep's second season, I think we will see more youngsters play under him in seasons to come ( diaz and Foden can get a fair share of games) and for us, I reckon Angel Gomes and Tahith will get chance.
I’m with you here. Mahrez is a much more complete player.IMO he's inferior to Mahrez, all depends really on whether Pep is trying to adjust the shape of their attack.
Cith have now upped their offer to £55m, obviously they are not that serious

The devil's what? They couldn't afford Sanchez remember. The poor devil's.

LVG would have promoted him instead of making a panic buy, the boy is classMaybe we should try to get Foden from them.
Wow to the people asking what will happen when Sane comes back from injury.. Mahrez is not a Sane replacement but a second option after Alexis Sanchez failed transfer for another forward who can play basically everywhere in attacking positions..
I come here in peace. The only thing I would like to say is that I wouldn't view this as Pep wanting to throw all this money at Mahrez because of Sane's injury. Pep and City's board have looked at accelerating transfers this month for a multitude of reasons (World Cup this summer, transfer prices already being very high and only going up, a shortened window to bring in players in the summer, still being in all four competitions, and FFP 2.0 looming) as opposed to waiting for some of these targets in the summer, which shows with paying the release clause for Laporte and trying to get the Fred deal done as well.
We all know Pep has been interested in bringing in another forward. Trying to sign Sanchez made that obvious. It is a lot of money to spend in January (Mahrez + Laporte) but it looks like Pep has identified his alternative to Sanchez. If he were to sign for City tomorrow, it would really only leave Fred (or an alternative midfielder) for the summer. My point is that Pep wanted another attacking player in the squad already, Sane's injury just made him turn his focus from prioritizing Fred to prioritizing Mahrez.
City in tandem with Guardiola come across exactly like this. He's got that twitchy intense mad stare, leg constantly tapping the floor -you know he'd be a junkie or a failed artist/politician in different circumstances. And the owners have the money. Buying players is a consumer addiction for the current incarnation of City. And what gall! The fecking sleight of hand he pulled during the Sanchez transfer to imply that others are capable of recklessly high payments. Are they just buying someone for the sake of buying someone?
Roma offered £35m and we laughed at them, the market has changed you’re not getting a Mahrez for that now, stop the football snobbery just because he plays for “little Leicester” we were recently named the 14th richest club we can’t be bullied financially any moreI like Mahrez. He’s seemed to have found form again. Not afraid to take people on and is creative enough.
55mill though is steep. Roma could have got him for 30mill if they didn’t hardball so much last summer. Even with the transfer inflation, he shouldn’t be more than 35-40mill max. I’d be happy to go for him at that price, anything more is just not right.
He was a junkie in Italy, he was a junkie when he returned to Spain ( withe the help of his 'doctor' friend) , no doubt he is still a junkie. The real question is, how many of the City payers are taking the little pink pills he had the Barca players taking?City in tandem with Guardiola come across exactly like this. City want to accelerate the buying of players because of the new £90m net limit on transfers about to be brought in by UEFA. However the buying of Mahrez is just a knee jerk reaction to Sane's injury. Pep cannot fail, he just cannot be allowed to. Looking at him at the press conference it was obvious he is on the little pink pills again, just like in Italy and Barca. How many City players are following his example?I come here in peace. Pep knows when to go into ramble mode.
This is stupider than me saying Kane's only got 3 years left in him.Probably an unpopular opinion but I'd have most likely have preferred him to Sanchez. Sanchez' best position is on the left, where we have Martial, and we really need someone quality to play on the right and Mahrez would've fit the bill perfectly. Now we either play Mata or fit Sanchez in there. All these people saying that 'he's not all that' must live on another planet because he's been great this season and was brilliant in their title winning season. Same kind of names I see that were saying that Shaw's done at United because 'he lacks mentality', when clearly that was a load of bollocks and completely disregards technical ability.
Earn one, get one free? He’d be mad to go there, aside from the fact he will most likely get a huge wad and another PL medal
Your argument is predicated on the assumption that City will not blow a fortune in the summer. This is simply an unrealistic and unprecedented assumption. City is likely to spend more than every other club in the summer, as they have done every transfer window since the oil state took over.I come here in peace.
