Madrid are preparing a £95m bid for Rooney

And the "Top Reds" come out...

If that's aimed at me then I don't know what you're talking about, I've never claimed or insinuated that I was a "top red". If you bother to read what Devilish posts on a regular basis, it's pretty much always complaints about us not spending big, writing off any transfer that doesn't come with a big price tag. God forbid anyone who brings it up.

Doesn't and will not make sense. Changes in prices and currency values aside, why would Madrid pay £95 mil for a player not better than the one they shelled out £80 mil for last year?

The story is bullshit.

Would Rooney score more goals for them than Higuain does just now? I don't know.

You jumped on his post which he was obviously sarcastic in it. It reeked of being a top red. Devilish has his/her moments but I felt your response was a bit OTT.

Hard to believe anyone takes this remotely seriously, but it looks as if some have already got their knickers in a twist worrying about it and the Glazer's again!

I almost feel bad for them.

If it was true then they'd be daft to turn it down.

£95m for 1 player is insane. Even Rooney is not worth £95m to us. We could strengthen the entire team with that money including a world class striker.

That said, it wont happen.

Just like we strengthened last year after using the 80m from Ronaldo's deal?

Anyway it's not happening

I'd say every player on our team has a price EXCEPT Wayne Rooney.

It would be crazy to imagine that in a space of 2 seasons we'd lose our entire attacking force of Rooney, Tev and Ronaldo.

I feel sorry for the Glazers. Imagine their anguish to see their star go. They wouldn't part with him for all the money in the world. But, for 95m? "What the feck are you waiting for?" I can almost picture that snarl on old man's face.

If there was a 95m bid, the Glazers would accept it. There is not a shadow of a doubt in my mind.

They're not going to bid 95m for Rooney.

A lots of posts for some bullshit from "caughtoffside.com". Silly season is here again.

:) Truly here. I can't believe people read such articles and then bother to form an opinion about it and then care enough to post about it.

To each their own, I guess.

Caughtoffside is as bad as goal and tribal football. So nothing to worry about.

And with Higuain and Ronaldo and Benzema they don't need any more strikers.

You don't think they'd discuss it with Fergie then?

They might discuss it with him, but it would be their decision regardless. Do you think the Glazers' would put the club before themselves? I don't think they would.

It's irrelevant anyway, because that kind of big is not going to happen.

Mourinho is implementing a new 3-1-2-1-3 formation so Rooney can deploy with Ronaldo and Higuian up front. Once they go up two goals, the tactics change to 4-1-4-1 with Rooney dropping to LB.

What you mean like the £80 million we got for Ronaldo last year that we didn't re-invest a penny of on proven talent? If Rooney were sold then it's highly unlikely we'd seE it reinvested in the team.

One of the advantages of United not spending much, is that it brings fickle glory hunters like you out of the closet. You've got to give Arsenal fans credit because what we've already spent this season, is more than what they do every year, yet you don't hear them up in arms constantly (whilst still paying the most for season tickets of any fans in England too). So how many years of us not spending is it going to take to get "fans" like you, to switch clubs? I'd will SAF not to do it, just so we get rid of the remaining fair weather fans we have (thanks to Chelsea, a fair few have already switched) like you.

Sick of reading the same of rubbish from the same bunch. This isn't aimed at match going fans btw but at "fans" who complain solely because we're not splashing out big. Some fans you are.

Ill tell you a little secret. I live in a country where around 40 per cent of the ppl support English clubs while another 40 per cent support Italian sides. Now when I started to love football, Milan were the next big thing. They used to buy the best players and they used to win alot. United was back back then a sleeping giant who had just awoken, a club who was finally started making a name in the third strongest league in Europe which was renowned for long ball football, its drunk players and its hooliganism. So basically you are talking crap.

Now my post was meant as a joke which you took a bit too seriously {I always wondered how mature people can take Internet so seriously}. Stating that, I cant see how one can applaud clubs whose owners bleed supporters dry {through ridiculously high season tickets} or put their club in financially jeopardy as much as I cant see why we should suffer the consequences placed on us by the Glazers. If Rooney leaves I would be gutted because a big club shouldnt allow their best stars to leave expecially if the money goes not for the club {not neccessarly transfers} but on frivolous things such as salary increases to Mr THE GLAZERS ARE EVIL|BEST THING EVER Gill and to pay for the debts. You want to call me glory hunter because of that? Be my guest. At least no one can call me a ruffian

I'm one of Rooney's biggest fans on here. Seem to defend him more often than not and am glad he had a great season with us.

But Change it to £80m and Benzema/Higuain and he can go join Jose

He let Ronaldo go, who was better than Rooney and cheaper.

This will be different. Ronaldo was a Spanish Liga fan since childhood. Rooney is not

Why do ppl in here cry out loud when a team wants our top players yet they want United to buy Silva, Gourcouff, Hamisk, i.e. the star players of other teams....

If you were, you would know that Rooney's priceless, you fool. Exchanging him for another 80 mill we won't see, and a Real flop would be insane.

That's just stupid.

Don't be so blinkered. A world record fee plus a ready made replacement, we'd be laughing. Rooney is a good player but he isn't irreplaceable and certainly not "priceless". Should add Higuain isn't a Real Madrid flop either and although Benzema has had a bad year in a new country in an unfavourable system, it's not surprising. He made the biggest mistake of his life going to Madrid as would Rooney if he went there too.

Only Ferguson is priceless at the club.
