Macheda Given Green Light For Loan?

I'd prefer him to stay in England. But he needs to play week in week out, like Welbeck, thats the most important

Personally, I'd like to see him go to Everton. I think he would get the nod ahead of Yakubu in partnering Saha. Plus with Saha been Mr Glass, he would start every game near enough.

West Brom sounds good. Italian manager and play the type of attacking football that we like which would give Kiko opportunities to develop like we want him to.

He needs PL experience. What's the point in sending to Serie A, unless we're fattening him up for a sale.

West Brom target Macheda Loan

An Italian Manager to help him while on loan, I think we found his destination

Watching them on Saturday made me think that West Brom would be a good club for Macheda to go to on loan, for mainly the same reasons as RonaldoVII and that I think he would get a decent opportunity to become a first team player. They don't seem to have a great set of strikers, so he would certainly get chances to impress and hopefully start most matches.

He wouldn't get games at Everton. They play 1 up front with Cahill in support and Macheda has never impressed when playing up front on his own.

West Brom would be a brilliant move for him.

He wouldn't start for the majority of the PL teams that have been mentioned. England or Italy, he has to play every week or it's a pointless exercise.

From Paolo Bandini's twitter(Guardian's italian journo)

Federico Macheda on his way to Sampdoria on loan. His agent says they are just waiting for Man Utd to counter-sign the documents.
Macheda's agent: "Sampdoria? We are nearly there. We are awaiting only the formality of exchanging faxes."
Macheda's agent: "A 6 month loan [at Samp], then we'll see with if he can stay another year. It's a 99% chance he'll have to return to Utd"

West Brom would've been a good destination. He needs more time in English football to adapt his talents into the game, and from what we saw of West Brom over the weekend, they would be a good club for him to go to since they try to play good attacking football.

If he is going to Italy,I believe that's the end of his United career then.

Why would we send him to Italy which is a completely different league compared to PL otherwise?

Just trying to hoping to raise the transfer fee.

He's being sent to Italy to work on his technical skills. Whats the point of sticking him in a club where for the majority of the time, he'll be playing hoof the ball. If many have ever watched him play, its his touch and spacial awareness that is lacking.

Like others I fear for his United career now. Hopefully he'll be an absolute sensation over there.

Lets wait and see before we make conclusions like that FFS

Manchester United striker Federico Macheda close to loan deal with Sampdoria

Federico Macheda is on the verge of a return to Italy after agreeing a loan period with Sampdoria, according to the Manchester United forward’s agent.

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson announced at the weekend he was looking for the 19-year-old to go on loan for the rest of the season in order to gain experience.

Now it appears Sampdoria are favourites to land the Italian who moved to Old Trafford from Lazio three years ago.

His agent Giovanni Bia said: ‘’The only thing missing is the formalities. I hope to finish everything by tonight so the player will be available for Sunday.’’

On whether the duration of the loan spell will be six months, Bia added: ‘’The idea is this.

‘’Then it will be evaluated with Manchester United and they will need to see if he stays in Italy for another year.

"It is 99 per cent he would go straight back to Manchester United.’’

The news Macheda is set for Serie A will dash any hopes West Brom had of securing his services.

West Brom head coach Roberto Di Matteo confirmed his interest in signing the teenager and was initially interested in acquiring the services of Macheda for a spell at the start of last season.

“Macheda is someone we looked at right at the start of last season,” said Di Matteo.

“He’s a striker, we are after a striker and we have to look at whether Manchester United will let him join us.”

Manchester United striker Federico Macheda close to loan deal with Sampdoria - Telegraph

Looks like Sampdoria according to his agent. Seems like it's down to the club now though whether to agree to or reject the deal.

Interesting deal... He'll be in direct competition with Marilungo, behind Pazzini. I think it's a decent deal - Marilungo is a second-striker while Pazzini leads the line, but Macheda will offer them something different and he should get games.

But it's no guarantee, of course - it's just that Sampdoria are down to 2 recognised forwards right now.

Some people are being OTT with Macheda, he has nowhere near the ability to be a regular striker for Everton, let alone West Bromwich. I've never seen the potential if I'm honest, I've always held Welbeck in a much higher manner. The reason why I mentioned Welbeck, I don't think both will make it at United, if that's the case then I prefer Welbeck to Macheda any day of week.

On the other hand, I don't see the downside with being loaned out to Italy, football is football and any experience whatsoever will help the lad develop. Now I could possibly have a reason to watch Serie A, yaay.

Similar to Rossi Jacob, once they experience top flight football consistently, they come back requesting to be sold if they aren't guaranteed regular matches.

He should make it at WestBrom who have only Miller and Odemwingie.

Everton would be nice too as Cahill is going to the Asian cup, might be useful.

If it happens, it happens. The lad needs to be playing regularly, he can't do it with us, and a loan is the sensible thing. If he wants to leave after that, so be it. We can't keep him just because we fear he'll want to go. He needs games.

I'm with Jacob here, he's never really struck me as world-class potential, yes he did seal of the EPL for us a couple of years ago but from that moment you would have expected him to development quite a lot, but I haven't seen any of that development from him. First team football - no matter where, will do him a lot of good.

He needs games, certainly, but SAF certainly see's something in the lad otherwise he would have let him go already.

We don't want a good young prospect to leave just because they desire first team football.

Imagine if Paul Scholes knocked the door after he came back from Loan and wanted to leave.

He should be loanded to a PL side, gain as much experience as possible and should come back next season to fight it out with Welbeck, Mame for that 5th spot.

His killing instinct in front of goal cannot be taught and even though he has been disappointing in a few matches, he still has something in him that I see but it just hasn't shown itself up yet.

Mind u, watching most of his matches, he has hardly got any support from the MF so I don't blame him.

Your spoilt, world class potential ( Messi/Ronaldo/Fabregas ) Don't just pop out of the blue, they are a rare breed and expecting 18-20 yr olds to perform consistently isn't what you'd really want from your teenager.

Macheda might not have the best of touches, linkup play, or consistency yet, but he still is 18-19 and still has a lot more room to improve.

He could be a very decent striker for us, a poacher maybe like Ruud, it just hasn't worked out yet so going on loan and coming back with PL experience would do him wonders... I'm sure SAF has planned out his future which certainly is with us.

Messi/Ronaldo/Fabregas are young, but they're players now, they're not potential. What I don't see in Macheda is the development you see in the twins, Chicharito, Evans and Smalling all of whom I believe will be world class at their peak. Macheda has a cockyness about him which he hasn't earned yet and for a poacher he doesn't score often enough for me.

To loan him out is not a good idea i think.

1) Everyone thought Rooney was out for some weeks on Saturday and Owen is injury-prone too.
2) If one of Rooney/Berbatov/Hernandez/Owen is injured for some weeks then we`ve only one striker option from the bench.
