Sympathy for the Devil? Not me. I don't feel sorry for him one bit. His treatment of van Persie and Hernandez was disgusting. The way he rid Januzaj out of the club when we needed him or than Dortmund is his own doing. Don't let the door hit you on your way out. I have less sympathy for him than I did for Moyes who I believe was a victim of circumstances.

In fairness, Januzaj is out on loan, so we can still recall him at any time.
RVP was no longer reliable (injured all the time, which effected his form).

I changed my vote from sacking him in the summer to sacking him immediately.

Enough is enough.

LVG had a brilliant career and he still has an outstanding grasp of the game, but it's clear he's not connecting with the players. Let's rip the bandage now.

And appoint Jose.

If we don't hear anything between now and the end of Monday then I think it will be clear that he'll get a last chance or two - which is wrong and pointless in my opinion.

I'd be genuinely surprised if we get anything against Stoke. That's always a tough fixture, and will be even more difficult given our current state.

If he was going to be sacked, it would have happened by now. Looks like he'll hang on until the next game, at least.

Just like the Moyes season, it seems we're going to wait until the season is unsalvageable before we do anything.

LVG fell on his sword in the post match yesterday, it's an old trick of his that he played at Bayern before he went crazy. I don't expect a decision before Xmas but if there is no change after Chelski and Stoke games I think he will be sacked.

As I said in another thread his system is dated but he refuses to modernize and bring in into the 21 century.

Absolutely.

His own stubbornness and refusal to adapt has basically cost him being a much better manager then he is.

He's just not a very good manager in 2015, regardless of ow great he was back in 1995. The game has moved on, and left him behind.

Thats why he needs to go, because nothing is going to change. Keeping him at this point, is just stupid blind faith, with no actual logic behind the decision.

He's keeping his job for now by the looks of things. Knowing his luck, we'll get one or two good results and it'll buy him time. Mourinho and the other options will all move on. We'll be left with Van Gaal.

He's been the luckiest manager I've known so far so fully expect this to happen.

they aren't announcing anything because, it won't even be in their minds to sack him yet,

He's here for a fair while yet my friends

What significance does Monday have? Why wouldn't they just announce it today if they were going to sack him?
IIRC, a change of manager can affect the share price so they wait until the NYSE is open to announce it.

I think it'll be announced tomorrow if at all, what with us being on the New York stock exchange.

It would be good if it was announced that him and the club have parted ways in a mutual agreement. Then again he won't want to resign for contractual purposes so we all know he will be sacked if he does leave before his contract runs out.

Get it done though. We can't afford to let this negativity take over the club. It's ruining us more and more each game. We need a new manager.

Every new video I see of LvG being boo'ed out of Old Trafford makes me feel a little more sorry for him. Even though I think the match day fans expressing their unrest is needed for the board to act quickly, it really is horrible to see and he doesn't deserve it. It looked like he wanted to bloody cry. Louis Van Gaal... looked like he wanted to cry.

Oddly I don't remember such videos with Moyes, despite results being much worse, and us losing about 8 home games under him, including absolute demolitions v City and Liverpool.
I guess we still had the "but Fergie started badly" line in our heads, whereas now we realise when it's time for someone to go

Putting aside my personal frustration, I can see the sense in not sacking him at this point. We're all nervous about the next manager to follow Van Gaal, but I doubt the board isn't sounding out the potential candidates now... We need to take stock over Christmas.

The January window could represent Van Gaal's last chance to get this right. I am fine with giving him the chance, and I'll be right behind him and the team so long as we see some signs of improvement. The only way I see that improvement happening is if we sign a couple of quality players this January and the injury crisis comes to an end.

Watching Klopp's Liverpool lose 3.0 after a draw and a loss in previous weeks in the league has put things in perspective for me. What assurance do we have that a new manager will bring instant success? I'd rather we tried to salvage this mess with further spending and that we did some proper planning for the next man to come in (most likely in the summer). Many are talking as though they don't want us to turn things around just so we can get rid of Van Gaal. That's wrong. I've been calling for Van Gaal to go in my constant irritation with recent performances and results, but I now think we should give him the January window, and if the results don't pick up in the next 10 games, then we can sack him and either appoint a caretaker manager or bring in Mourinho (if Pep tells us he's off to City in the summer).

We are now playing uglier duller football than when Moyes had us and thats saying something. The ugliest dullest football I have ever seen from any utd side and that includes the one I watched be relegated a long time ago. Every game I start off optimistic, Norwich being a good example where i thought we looked better but every game ends with the same view that we are so incredibly dull to watch. Absolutely no swagger or verve in our play.

I think if Jose is coming the club will want him in place for Chelsea. He'll probably be in the stands against Stoke to have a look while Giggs is frantically directing players from the touchline. First match against Chelsea at home, bam 3 points.

It would change the share price, so they cant announce important things when NYSE is closed.

Ed Woodward would have to contact our biggest shareholders as well.

People said that with Moyes tbf. Although the writing was on the wall for Moyes i seem to remember a fair bit of shock when it came. Many thought we were genuinely stuck with Moyes for X amount of years before the club finally bit the bullet.

Mata with the winner. Honestly, Carlsberg don't do poetry, but if they did...

that had more of a sense of it for me, as we were near the end of the season, everyone knew there was the minimum achievement of top 4th, and that the club were just waiting for us to go out of the champions league. And then we in a poetic justice sort of way got lashed by Everton!
This, although it feels very low, isn't quite the same. And it'd be dangerous to let Giggs have a 6month caretaker rampage

I remember a video of him. He got a standing ovation. At the time we were in 6th place, I think.
I was flummoxed because he had decimated the reigning champions and was being applauded for it.

We're a publicly-traded company on the market.

Any news that will affect the stock will be communicated to investors on business days, so we should (hopefully) hear something tomorrow.

It's not the same, you're right. If we are intent on getting rid, it does need to be now. Unless we still think we have a shot for Pep then Mourinho needs to come in asap. Letting Giggs try and guide us to 4th is reckless at best.

I think people were more willing to back him as it seemed like he was Fergie's chosen man, and was here for the long haul.
Van Gaal was only ever here for a max of 3 years, and the loyalty to manager thnking had also been ruined by Moyes' form

Imagine how motivated he'd be to prove Chelsea wrong in that game.

He'd be looking for blood.
