He has to go now. Being poor and losing is one thing but you know he's either lost the players or his tactics are awful when we pull one back with half an hour to go and we continue to play the same labourious, pointless play thereafter. I've never seen a team so devoid of belief and so apathetic to carrying out a comeback which was well within our grasp.

Now is a test for the board; are they cowards who want to wait until the minimum objectives aren't conclusively met... Or are they bold and know that this team aren't getting better and in fact are getting progressively worse.

I'm done. Probably been the most supportive person of him on here and to be honest half of that has been to provide a bit of balance to a lot of over the top and short sighted criticism but his position is untenable now.

Absolutely.

Get Carlo in, amiable guy, commonsense manager, keeps it simple and will steady the ship. This snake oil salesman has to right now.

I've made my mind. He has to go and he has to go now. Against fecking Norwich. You have to be kidding me.

Changed my vote to sack him now. Cannot wait to see the back of him.

Only Twiggy is left I suppose.

I think that will be the final straw. When you stop winning at home then it's time to go

In all honesty though a fergie, michels, clough, shankly, bill gates, aladin's genie hybrid would win feck all this squad. The younger players may grow in the future to be fantastic but the senior players are either past it or average and failing to show character. Not a great mix atm and you have to say the manager deserves his fair share of blame for that.

He would have been a brilliant aquisition on an 18 month contract but it's clear that his time is up.

He doesn't know his best XI, he doesn't know the roles that players should be taking up, he doesn't know when to admit things aren't going to plan and he doesn't know how to properly rotate players.

Really?

Crystal Palace are fecking closing in on us. Never mind Spurs.

Our season is on the brink of collapse. A new manager now can save it. Van Gaal can't.

I agree but I just don't see our board doing it. Has there even been any speculation about us even considering sacking him?

Spends £250m and beaten by 2 newly promoted teams in a week. He should be put on the first plane out of Manchester. If the board waits until Monday, they should all be fired also. Sack this joker tonight.

Specialist in failure. He's dismantled a squad, bought a new one with £250 million and can't deliver anything above a 4th place finish, if even that. I'll miss his interviews and absolutely nothing else.

The LVG era has been well and truly a disaster when you think about it. Regardless of top four last season, I can barely count on one hand the amount of games we actually looked convincing and his man management and subs have been shocking throughout his tenure.

Genuinely think he's going to be sacked in the next few days. Getting giddy just thinking about it

Lvg is losing it but the players need to have a good look at themselves! Carrick, Rooney and especially Mata he plays with a diaper on!

The problem as I see it with sacking LVG is, who will be caretaker. I'm telling you now Giggs will not be good enough. Remember the 4 games he had, he won only 2.

Unless we decide to go with Ancellotti now.

This is a soulless team drained of any excitement and motivation. As expected things are getting worse and we're 9 points away from the top now and out of the top 4, give it sometime and even top will be out of reach.

Today was the tipping point for me. Changed my vote from evaluate at the end of the season (actually meaning sack at the end of the season) to sack now. Reason being, I honestly don't believe Giggs would do worse as an interim manager until the end of the season.

Maybe we should sign Fabregas in January. He will get the ball rolling.
